Gravity Launch

Was a "First edition" the original name for a DE? Was the 5000 for your GT that you currently have, or for another trim?
Correct. The name Dream Edition came later. The 5k was for what ended up being my GT.
If we assume 80k preorders(R1S level, highly optimistic) and an average deposit of 700, then lucid would be getting 56 million. This could be used for more hires, and then the money coming from people who buy the high end dream editions should keep the new employees in the company and not getting laid off.
I'm not sure that's how it works. I know when I made my original deposit, they said it was being placed into an escrow account, so I'd always be able to get my money back no matter what happened to the company (ie if it went belly up before delivery, I wouldn't be out my 5k). I assume they'd do the same with Gravity deposits, so the amount collected is not usable towards company debts/costs.

Since Tesla will only sell less than 24,000 Model X in 2023 I would think Lucid would be Lucky to sell 10,000 units in 2025. ESP if Gravity is an average of $100,000. A Base Model X is only $73,000 now.
Hardly anyone is buying a X anymore...Gravity does not have a real competitor. EQS is not up to the Gravity in terms of range/space/looks. Neither is the BMW iX. And don't get me going on the 200kwh on the Cadillac Escalade EV!

Through Sept Tesla has sold 45,905 Model S and X worldwide this year.

IMO, roughly 31k of those sales are X.

Peter would throw his mum under the lorry to sell 31k Gravity in 2025.

Weird expression, but I agree. The end of this year should have good S/X SALES owing to the price drop, previously it wa available in 1 month now around 3. Lets not get offtopic though..

Model X is a dinosaur. It's time has passed. Most of those were the Model S after refresh IMO.

Looks at thread title: Gravity Launch.

Can we please keep this on topic? As opposed to having yet another in a loony series of pointless, baseless Tesla debates?

Seriously. There are Tesla forums. Open to the public. You all would enjoy those.

Totally did not expect that. It is a very nice move for Lucid to do that, most companies just would not bother.

These are not Tesla debates.

They are Lucid/Tesla debates.

Electric cars are judged by referring to the standard. Tesla.

Wall Street judges other electric cars business success by referencing Tesla.

How will Gravity business success be judged? How does sales compare to Model X.

Tesla does not sell "hardly any X anymore."

Which is the point I was addressing.

What more is there to speculate on " Gravity Launch" at the LA Auto Show until we get more information from Lucid?

Can we PLEASE not get the longest running Gravity thread shut down?

Not true. I Turo a new white ModelX last weekend in LA. And I see so many new ModelX everywhere. Here, 2 white ModelX just passed my white ModelX in Acadia.

I’ll say it one more time, for the people in the back.

GRAVITY. This thread is about Gravity.

yea oops, Gravity will add to that list when I can get mine. Okay back on track!
Wait, you are getting a gravity?

Now I can imagine you dropping your kids off to school in a matte blacked out, limo tint gravity, complete with the sunglasses and dramatic cinematic effects!
