Best reactions to your Air

Not the best, but made me chuckle. Charging at an EA charger at Encino Ralph's last night, an older lady in an EQE pulls up next to me while I was waiting for the one working charger and asks me, "Nice looking car. Is that a new EV from Buick or Lincoln?" 🫤

Someone was admiring the lucid and asked me what inspired the car design - the athletic stance of a cheetah, the stream lined tautness of a shark? I said people have told me the rear end was inspired by Buick.

The person looked at me deadpan, "What they said to you is straight up disrespectful." "Yup."

Before I even got the car, I was getting questions and reactions to the Lucid hat I scored from a studio during an opening event. Made me feel like I was already part of our happy little club.

Favorite reaction was actually this last weekend. I'm a part-time musician and was hired to perform at a billionaire's private party near Sonoma, where all non-guests were required to park off-site. Not only did the valet determine that I didn't need to do that, but they actually gave me THE parking space right in front of the entrance and relegated everything else to the lot. Will exploit this scarcity privilege for as long as I'm able to.

Also, apologies/thank you to every other Lucid owner I interviewed at length about their vehicles before my own was delivered, thankfully without following anyone home (oof). It's a fun community to be a part of, and I'd say the reactions I get on the street from non-Lucids are only bested by those from other Lucids. Recently had a ZR DE spot me and (aggressively) go out of their way to pull up next to me and give me a huge wave. Never felt so validated by a stranger in traffic; made my day (especially since they acknowledged my membership in the club as no lesser than their 2xprice/power own).

Agreed with the comments that we're all unknowingly signing up to be brand ambassadors, at least at this point, which has me thankful that I'm an extrovert by trade as well as generally not rushing to get anywhere. I'd say 50% of the times I'm charging it's become an impromptu clinic on the company and the car, which admittedly does help the charge time go by faster. Even ran into a Lucid senior dev charging their white AGT recently, who told me that Android Auto is _______ and will definitely be ________ no later than ________.

Two days ago I was showing my pass to the ranger at the entrance to Acadia National Park near my home. The young ranger seemed to know what my AGT was (that’s a surprise) but wanted to ask questions about it. She peppered me with inquiries while I was holding up the line seeking entry to the park. I broke off the conversation and the young lady said “she’s beautiful” as I rolled up my window. I didn’t know my ZR is feminine! Weird experience.

Previously, it was discussed that many women love the soft, curvy lines of the lucid!

ANOTHER Lucid employee who actually bought the car? Holy shit, Lucid employees have a HUGE amount of faith and love the company.

I had a similar experience earlier this year. We were going to a Murder Mystery birthday party at a hotel downtown. I thought we should take the Honda because I wasn't comfortable having the Lucid parked there for most of the evening, but it turned out great. The valet was set up on a busy corner outside the hotel. They were accepting cars and moving them to a parking garage. But when they took ours, they pulled it up to the front of the line and kept it there all night, right next to the valet stand. It was the only car that got special privileges that evening!

I had the same privilege experience checked into a hotel in Dallas downtown. The valet literally parked my car next to entrance of the hotel to safeguard it instead of parking in the garage.

With this many ocurrences, I believe it is either to protect such a fancy looking car as you said, or to show off the extravagance of the event with a car!

This. Hence why many venues and hotels will rent flashy cars to flank their entrances with. And my life goal of someday owning such a car is fulfilled!

It was never one of my life's goals, but now that I have one, I realize it should have been! I love this car, driving it every day is joy.

Most modes of transportation that carry people are referred to in the feminine.

I'm thinking how many owners refer to their car as "Lucy".
I was considering a vanity tag : "INTHESKY"

(it's a trippy car)
Mine is “Stella.” (Because, Stellar White of course.)

The lady at the DMV called mine "Lucy" as well, or more specifically "Umm, Luci...?" (wasn't familiar with the brand and only the first 4 characters of the vehicle appeared on the reg). Didn't seem like she had the time or was the right audience for a Ted Talk on Peter Rawlinson and Atieva.

Doesn't help that the temp tags we get from Arizona all say "LUCI" on them.

To quote my neighbor: "This car can't exist and it yet it does. It checks every box: Smooth, Quiet, Comfortable, Sporty, Race Car Handling, Fast, Roomy Inside for people and for Storage and yet mid-sized on the Outside, and a Family Sedan."

I explained: A single 600hp motor @ 160 pounds with Differential / Transmission / Electronics / Cooling fits inside your suitcase in the airline overhead bin. The next generation packaging; 469 hp @ 70 pounds is half the size, and used in Formula-E racing. Nothing in the industry comes close. Lucid Technology is far ahead of the pack.
