I went to the grocery this week and pulled into a parking spot. When I got out of the car, a woman was loading groceries into her car in the space facing mine. Her son was staring at the car and telling his mother about the cool EV, but she was not impressed. I asked the woman if she was not a fan of EVs, and she said no, so I just smiled and said that they're not for everyone. The kid was still transfixed, so I asked him if wanted to see something cool, and I opened the frunk to pull out my grocery bags. The woman was intrigued, and I explained that I put my groceries in the frunk so that when I pulled into my garage, I could transfer my frozen items directly to the stand-up freezer and not have to drag them into the house. She started laughing and admitted that THAT was a neat option. I tend to use my frunk a lot more than my trunk, I have to admit.
These days I find that lots of adults have become reflexively against EV's, but their kids do not seem to be (fortunately). Most of these adults cannot even fully explain why, but the answers I hear most often are that EV's "use just as much energy as regular cars," or "they create more pollution than gas cars because of manufacturing their batteries." When I am fortunate enough to engage in civil conversation and if the person seems really interested (and at least somewhat open minded), I keep a small stack of these in my glovebox and simply hand them one...

I figured my cost in electricity per mile vs what my prior ICE would have been for the past year. (I have a separate EV meter with TOU rates, and I deducted my road trip mileage where I used free EA charging.) It worked out to $0.34 per mile for my Lucid vs $0.98/mile for my prior ICE. I can live with that.
