New Touring vs Used Grand Touring

This may be a good deal, but I'd want to be very sure I understood why someone would take a $35,000 loss on a car with under 1,000 miles on it.
My theory....? A few people bought these with the idea of flipping for profit, but the used car sale 'probably' crashed on them, and rather than get stuck on a heavy note, they decide to sell at a loss.
Or the reduction in the price of the GT (removing options) has forced the used GT's to drop Ex. most people will buy a new GT for 138k without DDPro and his Audiophile sister, than a used GT for 130k.
I doubt its buyer remorse or problems, because those cars are still covered by warranty.
... it could also be a sudden financial change

All the luxury cars are known to depreciate around 40% in 3 years. If that is a concern for sure buying a used GT less than 1 year old is better than new Touring. However if you really want an EV right now but really want EV for the longer term, buying a used Tesla Model S such as https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/san-jose-2018-tesla-model-100d-only-14k/7577213399.html and buying Lucid in 2024 can be a great deal.
The specs are impressive for that Model S price, I will be concerned about the warranty on a 2018 vehicle

You still have battery warranty.

Fully loaded Touring for 113k vs Used Grand Touring for 120ish k with under 1k miles
Is the Touring and wait still worth it, or is it better to go the used route if you have additional 10k to throw in.
If I find my ideal build in on the used market I will probably go for that, can walk way from confirmation
For the extra battery life and hp, I would be tempted to spend the extra 7k. I have the Touring, and it is plenty of car for me, but for another ~8%, it would be hard to say no. Would it bug you to have a 2022 instead of a 2023? With less than 1k on the used car, I wouldn't care.

I'll say that support on my used GT has been amazing. Very responsive as if I bought it directly from them.

Please can you confirm you also have the same warranty as a new GT except for the EA free charging

There is a chance that 2023 touring models incorporated some of the lessons learned from GT.

I think the actual full charge total miles you get in GT and T might not be that far off. How could a heavier GT achieve the same efficiency as a T?

Any case, I wanted a new car so I went with T but at under $120k I would be tempted to get used if the interior

That is my hope and why I am leaning towards my touring. Not to mention some of the low mileage ones may be people
Frustrated with an issue.

The seller probably got the benefit of the tax credit--and maybe a state credit too (another $4000 in IL for ex). So the resale hit might be in the low 20s...still seems like steep depreciation tho...

I went with the touring and I am very happy with it.

With the old Touring pricing, if you like the deeper rear seat footwell, don't really care about DD Pro, and don't need the extra range, the Touring does still make sense. My car will cost $104k and that extra $16k doesn't buy me anything I want.

Same with regards to the frustration with my delayed Touring.

I use my American Express Platinum and Gold card Auto Purchasing Program link from my benefits page. From there, you can navigate to the used auto's tab, select Lucid, and search nationwide for used GT's. The great part is if/when I find a used GT that close enough for reasonable shipping or for me to drive and pick up at $120,000 or less in my ZR/SC/21's configuration, I'm going to pull the trigger and bank my Amex MR Points as well.

Here is the Amex True Car link. There are currently 22 used GT's listed nationwide for sale. https://amexnetwork.truecar.com/
Holy crap! They are all over the board on asking price! There's even a touring listed there for $150k lol. It says 616 miles on it but 0 owners lmao

I saw the Touring on Tuesday. That dealer even has a YouTube video up for the car. I promptly replied that they were basically out of their minds asking $149,999 for a Touring! 😂😂😂

That's what I figured. I'm looking for a used GT 19" rims, with Tahoe interior - I don't understand why these are rare.
I drive around 500 miles weekly and I know I will used up the threads in the larger wheels in no time.
Yep, mine was a steal, the Zenith Red with Tahoe Interior and 19" wheels, took me forever to see one pop up, got lucky and pulled the trigger the moment I saw one for cheaper than 130k
I'm in the same both on the new car thing as I would like paint protection on new paint (I don't have much experience with this, so maybe its the same thing on a used). I also drive a lot and 'hope' I would save some $$$ on the EA free charging... although I've heard its wonky and probably better to charge at home. I'm going ahead with my T order, but if delivery is delayed until I find a GT with Tahoe, and probably 19" wheels, and I can walk away without losing much, I probably will.
PPF will run over $7k usually
Registration (depending on state) another $8k+
And then insurance of around $150-$250 a month

Just do all the math and if the extra range and massage seats are worth it, then pull the trigger!

I'm super happy with mine, and the extra range helps a lot with disregarding range anxiety.
And I'm a early 2021 Touring reservation holder who bought a used AGT.

I would get Touring if DDPRo is not a consideration.
Otherwise AGT if the extra $ isn't a problem

Do the used ones usually come with ppf?

Totally depends. I’d say it’s about 50/50
Thanks! My plan is in motion then. Hopefully I get my new glass roofed touring no DDpro, and No sound Pro in a few weeks/months, but if a used GT with my wheel size shows up at a good price, I'll definitely consider it. If it has ppf then it will be a no brainer.

It’s a good deal to buy used, and I believe 2023 tax credits are available on used EVs… although I have not looked into the semantics.

"Motor Trend" recently clocked a Touring at 3.1 seconds 0-60. Just a few years ago this was exotic car level of acceleration and will match any Tesla today short of a Plaid.
I think they noted it was a side effect of less weight on the vehicle. Was very interesting to see regardless.
