Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

I’ve had this for a few months now (I was the first, but paid the same price), and I’m glad the cat is finally out of the bag. This is the same CCC that is in the 2025+ vehicles and the Sapphire.

IMHO, the price is very reasonable and I highly recommend it. YMMV, of course, but my car has felt a lot snappier.
Borski, any improvement with keyless entry and profile switching?

My next service center visit list is getting longer: Lucid Air infotainment processor in addition to CCS to Tesla NACS adapter, and getting the recalled floor mats refund. Would like all of these things in one go.

There are no future updates to share at this time related to the infotainment processor upgrade. The benefits of the upgrade are increased storage and memory, and faster compute power.
@marqie - One clarifying Q - does the infotainment processor control only screens and the infotainment features on them or does it also control behind the scenes software features like radar/lidar data processing, dreamdrive pro related software execution?

does this infotainment processor chip also include the Nvidia processor/processor for L3 self driving? or thats separate?

@borski @Bobby - if you guys are aware of it, happy to hear your thoughts too :)

It's mostly just infotainment, ADAS is multiple separate computers.

Oh then I am contemplating getting this upgrade. I am totally okay with current snappiness as I mainly use carplay which works fine.

The only point i was wondering was which kinds of features i will lose out on if i dont upgrade :)

Booked for the 24th - which was the only availability in the app for the Tysons service center.

Snappier interface is great and welcome. My main reason for doing this, though, is that I fully expect the upgrade to be a prerequisite for future software improvements, whether it's sentry mode, self-driving or whatever. Kind of like when I got the MCU2 in my first Model S. I'm slightly excited that the availability of the CCCv2 might suggest that such software improvements may be just around the corner ... here's hoping :D
@segbrk - could the latter half of this msg be true? Sentry mode/self-driving are managed by control center processor?

When my wife asked me why I wanted this...I told her cos while I can have toast as is...I prefer butter on top...this new chip is the butter to my infotainment toast....and I'm hungry. Kudos to Lucid to provide this as an upgrade and in my experience I'm not sure I've seen any car mfr provide hardware updates like this ..!

I have a 2025 Air Touring, I don’t see the upgrade in the app’s list of available upgrades so not sure if this upgrade is already in the ‘25 or not. Anyone know?

I would be somewhat surprised if Sentry needed a new CCC. I'd also be surprised if the new CCC really helped out ADAS in any way. For your use case though, it may still improve the reliability of CarPlay because the CCC is responsible for maintaining that WiFi connection with your phone. I have no confirmation that it actually makes a difference, just speculation. The area you'd really notice an improvement right now is with the built-in navigation UI. It's a bit slow/laggy on CCCv1, and from what I've heard much improved on v2.

Can anyone with the newer CCC comment on whether it solves the audio lag when watching video (while not driving, natch).

I just got an update from the service. I was told only customers with the V1 got the email. If you have the V2 already, it was not sent to you unless it is sitting in your spam folder 😎. I never got the email, and I have a late 2024 build. I was told to assume I have V2.

FYI, in case you are in the same boat.

I must have missed that, where do you get the CCS to Tesla NACS adapter?

My guess is they have a big 3.0 Air software update coming soon that you’ll need this upgrade to be able to use and update the software.

i scheduled an appointment for the 17th. lets see if they confirm. i have a lease with one year left. is it worth it for me?

I'm in the same boat. I see no reason to do it 🤷‍♂️

Please share your experience if you upgrade to see if this is worth getting. Thanks

Can Mobile Techs perform this upgrade?

I was told by DFW area mobile techs that they can do this in the field.

Anybody know what kind of processor is used? I'm assuming it's an ARM SOC since this is an Android-based system.
