Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

Borski, any improvement with keyless entry and profile switching?
I can say as a Sapphire owner and a Rivian owner that the keyless entry still sucks on the Lucid. My Rivian unlocks when I get near. My Sapphire makes me take my phone out of my pocket almost always. Because of the Rivian I know how it should work.

It would be great if they could provide some insight into future releases that may make good use of, or benefit most from, the upgrade...sentry, 3.0, etc. I'm generally inclined to want the upgrade but I honestly don't have an issue with the current UI performance.

I have a 2025 Air Touring, I don’t see the upgrade in the app’s list of available upgrades so not sure if this upgrade is already in the ‘25 or not. Anyone know?
The whole point of this upgrade is to bring the older models up to the same level of performance within that particular system as the newer models. You have a '25...that's about as new as it gets.

I would love to have this, but I am 23 months into a 36 month lease... I would love to have this update, but does not make sense to put almost 1k into a leased car for one year of remaining service... It would be great if they found a way to make some type of accommodation, but doubt there is a way...

the don't do the upgrade until those features actually become available for the Air....and then see if they require the upgraded chip. If that is truly your only concern, then simply wait and see as there is no advantage to pulling the trigger early.

I was able to schedule an appointment, but then got a call from the Atlanta Service Center that they dont haev the parts and will put me down on a waitlist and contact me once they have the parts to do the upgrade. Hope the wait is not too long...
I was told the exact same thing by my local Scottsdale Service Center. It’s great that this upgrade will soon be available though.

Yeah, my wife has a Tesla and 0 issues there, I get it. I opted for carrying both the phone and the fob. Improved the experience somewhat…

Holy cow, thread started this morning and already 86 responses!😁 People are really interested in the chip upgrade, including me. Even though there is no immediate benefit ( with apologies to @borski , the correct term is not snappiness but robustness😂), you can see that FOMO (fear of missing out) runs strong among the owners. I have really been trying to embrace JOMO, but the siren call is too much for me.😂😂😂. Will be scheduling it with my 2 year maintenance...

Interesting email today, and like many others I wonder what will we loose (FOMO) in future. Is there another computer upgrade required for Sentry Mode, if it shows up one day? If not, then IT'S A YES else let me take a pause and wait for some feedback and a more convincing argument from LUCID.

You know what else needs hardware update eligibility ... the car seats....if Lucid comes out down the road and wants to charge owners a few for upgrading seats...I will be no. 1 in line....not that I dislike my current seats ... but at the time I was ordering my 23 AT, massaging seats were only available on the AGT....the ONLY fomo I have is not having massage seats....which I will be the first to say...are good but not necessary...and when I have tried them in the loaners...I've felt they're like a 6.5/10 for me personally....but on the FOMO scale....massage seats are a 11/10 for me...I didn't want the GT but wanted the massage seats....I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and wish the Lucid fairy comes tonight and leaves an email about seat upgrades under my pillow...

I think I saw @borski say that the 25s already have the upgrade

I've been in line for over a year 😅 Couldn't agree with you more. I asked my service guy about 18 months ago if there's any way to replace seats in the Touring. No dice.

Does anyone know how long this price will last? I’m fine waiting for more snappiness but don’t want to miss out if new features start rolling in.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. I didn't experience any UI delays nor issues, other than the steering wheel volume control, which I never use. So, I'm not sure if I'll upgrade.

One thing's for sure, if Remote Service cannot perform, I'll be waiting. My nearest center is 5 or 6 hours away.

Just got my car back after 2 months of service for that drive power loss thing. Will pass on this upgrade. Almost time for the lease to expire.

I have a 2025 Pure manufactured in Dec. 2024 so I think I’m in the clear. I’ve never had an issue with lack of snappiness in the interface. A recent update actually fixed the frame rate issue, to an extent, on the cameras. Still not Tesla-smooth but better than before.

I wouldn't sit too long on that price. When my SS Pro trial ran out, they offered me to upgrade for $2500 but I didn't think I needed it. It's now $2900 and there are times that I wish I upgraded. As others have pointed out, when Tesla offered the upgrade it was 50% to 100% more ...

“Increased storage” sounds particularly germane to dash cam functionality.
My guess is they have a big 3.0 Air software update coming soon that you’ll need this upgrade to be able to use and update the software.
I asked the Lucid folks whether to expect a 3.0 Air update at the KoP owners event and their response was not committal but sounded like a no to me.

i have a lease with one year left. is it worth it for me?
Please share your experience if you upgrade to see if this is worth getting. Thanks
Honestly, I'd have to say no. I had a '23 Touring and just turned it in and got a new '25 Touring. To be honest, I'd say there's a slight improvement in the UI, but not major at all. I don't think I'd have noticed it on my '25 if I never knew it was there. So given the time left on your lease, unless they're going to announce some new feature that needs the upgrade that you really want even that short time... save your money.
