Update 2.6.16

Sadly my wife backed into a parked Mercedes for this very reason. sucks.

Interestingly, I've lost efficiency based on my driving style by about 1 kwh/m from 4.10 to 3.10. This could be a more accurate reading, however as I'm under 15k miles.

These are all new problems with the latest software I've found. My guess is the code is crashing internally somewhere, or PGLs are being killed or zombie-processes are happening requiring daily reboots (maybe)? Startup is definitely not good anymore.

I've noticed the following changes that good ol' Soft-Reset Air-Logo did not solve:
  • Adaptive Cruise is semi-erratic with occasional phantom-braking every 2 or 3 minutes.
  • Native Sirius/XM starts off at half-speed (like a cassette player with low-battery) as software starts for about 5 seconds, which I find a bit amusing, but then it sounds "crackle-y" like it's missing bits which goes on for about 30 minutes, even changing channels
  • Does not always register self-check dummy-lights upon pressing the brake pedal starting-out, therefore not allowing to shift out of Park for several minutes (sometimes).
  • Reverse does not always lower the rear shade for 30 seconds delay.
  • Computer NAV sounds choppy sometimes, usually starting-out driving if a destination is put-in, stuttering.
  • Curb-Rash does not work as I've scored by right rear rim even though it was set to "ON" and was noon with good lighting. My fault but I thought a warning would ensue. Nope.
  • Phone's Bluetooth often no longer connects with the car. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Repeated exit/entry of the vehicle helps connect. Toggling the phone's BT does not.

I think the software load-up is significantly longer with this drop. I haven't had it before. I wish I could roll it back as I'm not quite happy with it.

From the Ford recall
https://search.app/5W86v

Ford is not aware of any injuries related to the software error. The automaker has received one report of a minor crash resulting in property damage.

"A frozen rear-view camera display image while in reverse can create a false representation of where the vehicle is relative to its surroundings, increasing the risk of a crash," the NHTSA stated in a May 9 report.

You should file a NHTSA report if Lucid is refuse to acknowledge the issue.

The article left out a very important preceding sentence about the issue.

Ford’s issue: “The center infotainment screen may freeze followed by a black screen and a system reboot. If this occurs during a backing event, the rear-view image may be frozen, missing, or delayed.”

I haven’t heard of Airs spontaneously freezing and then spontaneously rebooting while in reverse, so that sounds like a much worse issue.

But dno.

I tried out the new Dream drive Pro today and it’s feels more natural. It was a lot of stop and traffic and I thought it did a fantastic job of accelerating and decelerating.

I'm from Germany and still waiting for the new version. I'm still on 2.6.11.
Is there anything I can do to get the update earlier or force it?

When I had an update that was delayed I sent a message to service and they were able to trigger it to update. It took about half a day I think?

Finally drove on the interstate for a road trip with this software and experienced several episodes of phantom braking . It seemed to occur generally when passing an 18 wheeler. It's a brief episode of the break being aggressively applied for a split second. Very disconcerting as it randomly happens.

Yes. I have had this too post-update. I didn’t want to say anything about it because it reminded me of the early days of “Enhanced Autopilot” and early “FSD” on our Teslas. It took years for Tesla to iron out the phantom braking. Our Tesla hasn’t done it in a very long time.

What I do wish for with Lucid is the ability to press Lucid Assistant (I think that what it’s called), and say “Bug Report. Phantom Braking”, and have that sent back automatically to Lucid. Sort of like what we’ve been able to do in Teslas for years.

I've been experiencing this phantom braking a lot. I just did about 600 miles (out and back) on a relatively straight section of HWY 15. I was using Adaptive Cruise. I did not use Drive Assist (it drives too much like a 15 1/2 year old who just got their permit for my liking). This phantom breaking occurred about every 3rd 18 wheeler and to a lesser degree on pickups and larger cars. In some cases the warning signal would also chime and braking would be heavy enough and long enough that I had to override. Near the end of the trip (about the last 100 miles) the problem virtually went away, almost no phantom breaking. So my guess is there are some environmental factors at play here. Weather was mostly clear with some clouds. Car was clean. Travel was during the day with good light. I drive slightly above the speed limit, so probably 10-15 mph faster than the 18 wheelers in most cases.

My 2025 AT does the same thing. In addition it phantom breaks frequently to parked cars if I use adaptive cruise in the neighborhood

Yeah. Not their best update. I’m seeing the startup issues, but not the other ones, so there is that. The previous update was trouble free for me. I’d roll back of if I could.
