The tire game is rigged, they are labeling things 285 while making a much smaller part of tire touch the road. Difference between 21” rear and 23” rear is 1.4” in the same size! Difference up front is 1”.

The Pirelli PZ5 on the largest Gravity wheels is a very "square-shouldered" tire that seems to put more of the tread width on the ground, as shown in this short video (1:50):

I compared to a Vredestein all season tire too, wishful thinking only gets one so far. Over 1” difference on the 285 side

Might be worthy of a new thread but I'll start here anyway...

We configured the smallest wheels for our Gravity DE with the intent of maximizing range and perhaps more luck in surviving "bad roads" and "curb mishaps" with the extra rubber.

There were some comments in some of the threads about challenges finding and sourcing replacement tires on the various size pairings for Gravity wheels. Also, I'm perhaps a little apprehensive regarding the "worthiness" of the OEM tires on the smallest pairing for the torque being applied.

Does someone have a write-up / summary of what they've found available so far?

I'm mulling over whether we should consider changing our order to one of the other size pairings. Especially since there's arguably "lost value" in not taking the more expensive wheels and then swapping or selling them for smaller later if desired.

We tried to change ours from smallest (which we'd switched to for same reasons) to largest yesterday and they told us it would cause an 8 week delay in our order because we already had a pre-vin assigned and would have to release that pre-vin to switch (plus they claimed that there was only one Gravity being built with 22/23 wheels that wasn't already assigned for the upcoming 8 weeks of manufacturing--one with a Yosemite interior which we didn't want). So you might want to check to see if a pre-vin has been assigned to you before making the switch.

Yeah, your post on that was part of why I wanted to get my head straight on this before we get assigned a pre-vin or vin.

I do have to wonder if the sales specialists are told to discourage switches back to the larger wheels as it reduces Lucid's profit margin by quite a bit. They were surely a whole lot more accommodating going to the cheaper wheels . And the manager of Fashion Island in Newport Beach was quite sure they'd be able to switch wheels without losing the pre-vin. It was my sales specialist in San Diego who nixed it. Maybe you will have more luck with yours.

Interesting point. At retail the Pirellis cost close to double the other tires.

They are not. Mine is still slightly disappointed I picked the 21/22 and not the 22/23

This is a Pirelli P-Zero 21" 245/35/R21 LM1 summer front on a Lucid Air GT @ 45 psi. Sidewall cords have no place to hide when pot-holed.

A one inch deep hole or even a transition edge can toast these tires instantly.

Living at elevation in the mountains, I want a 3PMSF rated tire for better performance in the snow. I'm unsure about the load ratings of the OEM tires, but at least superficially the Cross Climate 2's are EV rated and available in the 20/21" size of the OEM Hankooks.

Pilot Sport 4 SUV looks right too. Doesn't show up when you search though (maybe because front is an OEM tire?)

Probably because front is W rated and the tires must go as fast as the vehicle they are mounted on, in this case the Dream as it has the same exact wheel and tire. Have to conclude the Dream should go over 168mph, napkin math and all.

Ah. That makes sense. Didn't notice that Hankooks are rated for 186mph!
I would like to see a 186mph range test. I suspect the thermal management would not be able to sustain 186mph for very long.
