Well, how about that. The driver front tire has a bubble after three months. Upside: I have the warranty from the replacement I did three months ago. But after that it's time to replace the 21" rims with 19".

In other news... are we able to use other 19" tires if/when the OEM Pirellis bite it, as experience suggests they will?

One of my tires (21”) has been losing air. NTB found a nail and patched. Two days later losing air again. NTB showed me the tire and said other than bubble it is intact and they don’t know why it’s losing air. I’m replacing it, but curious if anyone has an explanation as to why it would be losing air.

From reading other threads on here, I consider myself lucky as I have over 17,000 miles, live in a city with terrible roads, and this is my first tire issue I’ve had.

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps a second nail? The patch didn't work? Get a new one regardless. Your safety is very important.

Honestly my entire experience with the 21” Pirellis has been… deflating.

New one being installed tomorrow. But, again, they looked over the tire and there was not another nail nor was the first patch failing (per NTB). They were not pushing me to get a new tire, either, so this wasn’t to drive a sale.

Of course you can. Just make sure they are rated at least as high for load and speed. But I would be hesitant to mix brands which would then have different tread patterns. For example, on my GV60P the OEM tires are Michelin Primacy AS 255/40 R21 102W XL. This is a decent all season tire for range, etc. But I live in the Phoenix area and don't need an all season tire but I do want a better performing summer tire instead. So I am planning to replace these with Michelin Pilot 4S ultraperformance summer tires which come as 255/40 R21 102Y XL. The 102 is the load rating and the W or Y is the speed rating. The two tires have the same load rating but the Pilot has a higher speed rating (186 compared to 168). So I can properly replace my Primacy with the Pilot tires. On the other hand, I could not do the reverse (I think most reputable tire stores would refuse to sell you the reverse arrangement.

You just need Borski's tire shine and you'll never have a flat again!
Seriously though. I don’t know what mitzvah I did but I’m not asking too many questions.
