Software Wishlist for 2025

...Talking about future- have an ai executive assistant who would greet you, tell you about traffic to work, what's on your calender for the day, remind you of birthdays, what the headlines are, etc - anything you want to program it for...
Sound a lot like a Google Routine

Finally - entertaining things. Might have laughed at the Santa on auto pilot, but little things like that made me think Tesla cared about making me smile. That and car karaoke, arcade games, etc....
Don’t forget the farts 😂🤦‍♂️

I think we should put together a new wishlist for software features for lucid and a list of bugs still continuing to exist. I know there was one a year or 2 back guess what we are in 2025 and so much happened already

I will kick off myself

New Features
Sentry mode

Smart signal - it will turn off once the car
senses that it has made the turn
Smarter hey lucid

More apps are always welcome , why not Netflix at least is an option

Lucid App Store

SDK for developers to make apps

Interactive ambient lighting

More screen control for the backseat like playing music and changing radio channels

More physical accessories

Bugs
doors soft opening is till not reliable

The car animation in Drive Assist if you look closely you will see that the it looks like a bar diecut image and there is tiny white background

App widget breaks after couple of uses or days

Apple Watch app is buggy, it does work most of the time and it only works if the iPhone close by and cannot be used separately

This is what I can think of now :)
1. Android auto
2. Android auto
3. Android auto
4. Android auto
5. Ability to have different info on lower screen
6. Android auto OTA update

Scheduled charging like the rest of the EV industry - allow the EVSE to control scheduling and/or schedule on and off times in the car, have weekday and weekend schedules, adjust the amperage of the charging. For a luxury car, this is my only real complaint (other than having more duty amid range on the audio volume control)

Native Google maps and proper scheduled charging external to the vehicle.

Here's my current list (though I'm sure I'm forgetting something)

Starting with one that's REALLY important to us, but I'm probably the only person to ever ask for it:
- Light Mode for all screens (for both Air and Gravity and all future models!) - my wife has artificial lenses and has a REALLY difficult time reading black screens and white, backlit text. To the point of being a safety concern. She leased a Genesis GV60 in large part because it was one of only a few EVs with light mode (and a HUD). It would really be great if she could drive my car without struggling to read the screens, PLUS having it on the Gravity when her lease is up would go a REALLY long way to making it our 1st choice of a replacement. Like I said, we're probably the only person that will ever ask for it, but given that smartphones have supported both light and dark modes for many years, I don't understand why almost every car uses only a 'dark' mode. I'm sure there's more people than just my wife who really need a lighter mode (black text on a contrasting background).

The rest:

- Android Auto!!! I know I've heard that you're waiting for Google approval, but it's anyone regularly on the phone with them asking what they need from you to get it across the line, or are y'all just sitting around waiting and hoping they get around to it?
- Here Nav options - can't even set to avoid tolls, or prioritize fast vs economical routes. I know their API supports both so it should be a fairly easy add.
- Let us set our preferred default drive mode, or at least just remember the last setting.
- Allow for an individualized drive mode (eg, I'd like to be able to set the more chill acceleration but with the more tight/sporty steering and suspension settings)
- Charge state should show (or be able to show) BOTH miles and percent at the same time! I don't even understand how its possible that you can't do that already.
- Needs an option for the lifetime trip/efficiency data. My former car also tracked data per user, but at least want to be able to see the overall lifetime efficiency info. I know I can leave one of the A/B trips and never reset it, but A) I didn't realize it didn't have the lifetime stats at first so it's already missing some early data, and B) it's far too easy for it to be accidentally reset by myself or an unwitting passenger
- Customizable left side (of main/center screen) info - it's a little too basic for my tastes. I totally understand it as a default but I'd love to be able to set a more information rich option eg, similar to my wife's GV60, I'd love to be able to set it to show the current ("instant") mi/kWh, average mi/kWh (for trip A/B, charge, or lifetime), current range, etc.
- Some more data-rich screen options on the right and/or lower screens. For example I really like the live, per-system energy consumption data available on the GV60.
- A way to force an ota software check, or to volunteer to be an early adopter to get priority rollout for new updates. Even if it requires an agreement to provide good feedback or bug reports.
- Barring Android Auto, I'd love to see a native YouTube Music app, and maybe native Waze
- option for an "analog" speedo
- Better customization options for audio equalizer.
- Multi seat/steering save settings even for the same driver (sometimes I like to be further back but more upright, sometimes I prefer to be closer and more laid back - depending how my lower back and neck feel that day)
- Settings to customize when the doors automatically lock/unlock when driving/stopping (eg, lock as soon as put in drive, or at 15 mph, unlock as soon as put in park or not at all, etc)
- Stop making (or MASSIVELY reduce) the 'low-speed' noise when we're at a complete stop. It's rather annoying at drive through windows.

- Slightly more hardware based, but need an adapter or some way to use an OBD2 dongle so I can use some of my mobile apps to track things like performance data.

I know it's a lot but y'all are SOOOOO close to having a damned near perfect vehicle!

Add "bypass toll roads" to navigation maps.

this is by law, the system of the car must reset to default settings every time you turn off / power off the car

they said they are working to add more content providers in the last Ask Me Anything session

this is by law, the car has to emit a sound at specific dB level as safety

I understand the sound and the reason for it , but I don't think it needs to keep making the sound when the vehicle isn't moving. The GV60 stops the sound when the car stops moving, and starts the sound back up as soon as you start moving.

No. It's the rules around EPA mileage reporting. They only test the range in Smooth Mode, so it has to default to that. If they tested the range in all three modes and reported it that way, they wouldn't have to default back each time.

FEATURES
Continuity of playback in Tidal between driving sessions (i.e. pick up an album where you left off)

UPDATE - Tidal users, the workaround here is to pause playback before you exit the car, then resume the next time you're in it. If you let it try to do this by itself it will choke.
Navigation favorites
UPDATE - I've gotten into the habit of picking "favorites" from the "recents" list in the search window (which you can also manage by deleting recents you don't need) and it actually works pretty well.

I actually thought of another idea yesterday. It would be really nice if there was a way to have the shades automatically upnwhile parked, and then pulled down while driving. Rather than, or in addition to, the rear shade automatically going down while reversing.

I have to imagine that not only people in hot southern states, but users in KSA would also appreciate such a feature, automatically shading the car while parked, but not impeding vision while driving.

I just moved from a Tesla S to the Air. The one software feature I miss most is the auto-open/close of my garage door when I leave and come home. First world problem I know, but it was so cool to have the door magically open and close for me.

You can set up this magic with Home Assistant if you’d like.

Thanks, borski. I've got a couple home automation systems going, but hadn't seen Home Assistant before. It's intriguing, but I'm not clear on what you're thinking the triggering event would be - can you elaborate a bit?

Oh. Yet another idea: An option so passive unlock is geo-gated, so it can be disabled while at home, but works while out and about.

Even though it's been working quite reliable for me with my mobile phone key, I've just decided I'm going to have to keep it disabled because while I'm walking around the house, the car keeps walking up and my Bluetooth audio gets connected to it.

I'd like this too. It's one of the reasons that the mobile key doesn't work well for me.

We can see why it is so hard to build a car nowadays. All we want the car to do is bring us to where we want to go and bring us home, safely. Anything other than that is gravy.

Same here, but for us that means Google maps. It gets complicated.
