Soft reset not enough to reset sensors

So today I drove over to the Salt flats in Wendover Nevada.

Had a great time and even though the car didn't get very dirty, I got sensor blockage warnings and was unable to use HA/AC, nothing worked. Just said sensor fault.

I did a few logo soft resets and nothing worked. Son was sleeping tin the back seat and so I didn't want to evacuate the car and do a hard reset (I tried that last year and car didn't hard reset until everyone was out of the car)

I had to drive home without the sensors working, and after I got home, hard resetting the car worked.

Soft reset should really also reset or reboot the sensors or there needs to be an easier way to do that. Not even having cruise control without any sensors (just maintain speed) was a bit frustrating

Or if anyone knows a sure fire way to do a hard reset quickly/easily without exiting the car and not being dangerous to the car, would love to test some methods for the future.

I posted about something similar a while back

The logo reset only reboots the infotainment system. The only way to do a "hard" reset is to exit the vehicle.

I am not sure if the "nuke" reset also resets only the infotainment or more than just that.

One time, my pilot panel and top right screen went dark while driving. The car drove fine but I could not even change a channel as the screens were down. I pulled over but could not do a logo reset as the screen was non responsive. So I did the steering wheel microphone, cancel button and press the brakes reset described on the manual. Everything booted up after about 20 seconds of holding all three things. That reset worked for me. Maybe also try that next time.

WOW I hadn't heard this one. I guess I missed this reset method in the manual.

Not sure, is it good that we have another reset method or that we keep having to do SW resets.

The logo reset only resets infotainment.

That's the nuclear reset, and lucid doesn't recommend doing it. Hence why in my post I was asking for anyway to hard reset without it being dangerous to the vehicle.

There needs to be a way to do a full hard reboot without exiting the car.

That is no longer the case. CS and service have both recommended the “nuclear” reset in the past, and it is now an acceptable method of reset, though not the most preferred.

It is unlikely to damage the car, but it may delete logs Lucid would very much want; think of it like unplugging the power cord to your computer directly, without shutting it down “cleanly” first.

That is the only method of “hard resetting” the car other than getting out and letting it fall asleep, to my knowledge.

Thank you! That actually helps a lot and I was scared of doing it in the past. Didn't realize it was like that. Maybe I can run some various tests with a watermelon in the seat and see all the different reset methods and make a chart

Guys if you check your manual on the Lucid App. Go to Infotainment and then to Reboot.

There it is. It works.

Agreed. I had no option as my screens went dark. I stopped on the side of the highway and did this reset. Worked great!

So it is! I pulled it up on the website and took a screenshot just to make it a bit easier to read:

Nice find!

Interesting that it says you'll hear a confirmation chime. That must be new; it never used to chime.

Thanks to both! That reset was never mentioned in the manual before. It seems it's safe enough they're okay with people using it now. That didn't seem the case before. Or at least it was hidden, unless you called into CS
