A little backstory: I’ve been a disgruntled Tesla S owner for the past 15 months. Bought a 2021 with 14k miles in March ‘24 and every 3 months it was in for service. Last service and the deciding one for me was 2 months ago the HVbattery (essentially the heart of the car) just up and died. Out of the blue. No warning. Truth be told, originally, I wanted to buy a Lucid. But I had wanted to own a Tesla for years and thought I would give it a go. Lesson learned. When the Tesla was in the shop for the HV battery is when I decided I was moving on. At first I thought I’d go right to Lucid. But I started doing some homework and all the horror stories popped up and I got cold feet. I am committed to EVs (don’t want to go back to ICEs) so I shopped around. After about a month of hemming and hawing, I decided if I’m all in on EVs then suck it up and make the jump to a true EV - Lucid. It was somewhat an “ah ha” moment, kind of late at night, so i jumped on the website, saw what was available in 2 weeks and pulled the trigger.
So far, the process has been smooth. A slight hiccup with the leasing application, but it was remedied in 5 mins via a call from my SA, Bryan. There’s been frequent communication via calls and text messages and as of right now, I’m scheduled to pick up the car on Saturday. I am a tad worried that delivery might get pushed since the car arrives at the KOP center on Friday, but I can only control what I can control.
Fingers crossed it continues to go smoothly and I find myself enjoying the drive home Saturday afternoon in my AT.
