I can’t remember the exact date but it was the first half of 2021. I made my interior change over New Years and right after I pressed “save” I got a message saying that any changes can change the delivery window, which was the opposite of everything I understood. Seems like maybe they corrected that, but I’m not messing with it anymore.

Any changes made before Midnight on January 15th should be reflected in the new updated timelines slated to come out by end of January. If a change was made AFTER 1-15, then I'd expect that the new timeline will be released in 3 months as Rivian stated that they are giving quarterly production updates. Would be good if they gave them monthly.

In the way back, I put down reservations on the Lucid Air, Rivian R1S and Cadillac Lyriq (got one of the 1500 Debut Edition reservations). When Cadillac triumphantly announced that they were 9 months ahead of production back in March 22, I fully expected that my delivery order would be Lyriq --> R1S --> Air, with the Lyriq coming sometime late spring of 22 ... whelp in true GM fashion, they failed on all sides and I "supposedly" have a TPU (Targeted Production Week) of 1-15, but haven't received an update if that happened. If my R1S window (currently Oct-Dec 23) doesn't slip when they provide the updated timeline end of Jan, then I'll probably punt on the Lyriq as I had expected to have it for at least a year before the R1S arrived. I honestly didn't think that the Air would beat them all, but kudos to Lucid! I didn't have plans on keeping all 3 EVs, and with the current market, I don't think that the Lyriq will appreciate or even hold its original sale price if I sell it 6 months after purchase.

I just won R1S on carsandbids.com. It was lowest winning bid ever. 2 auctions prior to that was a black one closed at 35,500 above my winning bid. The words in the community was a company LLC proxy bought it for celebrity.

Insane $35,500 price difference in 14 days!

I just won R1S on carsandbids.com. It was lowest winning bid ever. 2 auctions prior to that was a black one closed at 35,500 above my winning bid. The words in the community was a company LLC proxy bought it for celebrity.

This is what I did the specs on configurator.

With 1500 destination charge, I’m only 2,750 on top of current Configurator. And Configurator is only for Adventure Edition. I got Limited Launch Edition with lots of badges.

The seller ordered on Nov 2018 LA Auto Show and took delivery on Nov 2022. He has another Adventure Edition order coming in months, so he’s selling this one for pre-inflation price profit.

I know beauty is in the eyes of beholder. There isn’t another boxy SUV EV out there on the market right now. It look so gorgeous in every angle to me. I cannot resist to its clean modern design language. I went to Dallas to offer one, but seller won’t take my offer of 110k abc insisted on 125k. Then a day later, I won 100.5k in auction. I did warn that seller don’t anticipate price will be in his expectation range forever and take Lucid AGT for example it went down from 170k to 130k. Once Rivian can ramp up these, the local dealers selling these at 125k ~ 140k will be toast.

I don’t know is it bc it’s Launch Limited Edition or what, it seems Rivian is overloaded with wood trims. And they do feel good touching the sanded smooth grains and laser brand engraving. And I think it has new car outdoor smell of woods.

Lucid AGT doesn’t have this much wood as R1S. It’s ridiculous how they can ramp up like this. The wood are sanded with refined curves and they are all over the place on steering wheel, dashboard, chair coat hooks, every door panels and center console.

I was going to check Rivian Hub to feel this car and to compare with MB EQS EV. The exterior curves and its cabin storage size won it for me. It was a bit impulsive bidding online; but after studying the market value, I think I won’t have burr’s remorse. I see R1S as Jeep Wrangler on steroid with better departure curve than any SUV, don’t have to be a grease monkey to get down underneath car to adjust suspension, sway bar, etc etc. everything is auto tuned on screen. Now I will examine Rivian techs and see they offer and suggest in this forum and hope to make Lucid product even better.
