Expecting to pick up my new AT by the end of the weekend. I've seen the list of "things to check" but was wondering if anyone had some insight as to what I should expect upon pickup (@ Plainview, NY).

Do they train you in the use of the car? Advise on charging best practices? Do they try to upsell you on things (mats, accessories)? Curious about the experience. Have never bought a car directly from the manufacturer...

I can give some perspective as I picked up in Plainview.

Process was relatively straightforward. Car was sitting in the lot charging. They had an advisor come out and help me setup the vehicle, pair my phone as a key, login using my Lucid login.

I was eager to get moving so I asked for an abbreviated demo. Took a look over the car checking key items on the list and they handed me over the keys. Overall they were very helpful and I'm sure will spend enough time to get you familiar with the vehicle.

Thanks very much. Looking forward to officially "joining the club" :)

I also picked up my car in Plainview, and it was a great experience. Everything you want when picking up a high-end car. No upsell, no talk to a finance manager, etc. Just congratulations on your new car. My car was inside, and they will spend as much or as little time as you want showing you the car, and then they drove the car outside for me. Since I assume you are going to need front and back license plates, make sure you check that they gave you 8 screws for the license plates. With NY delivery, you will get a temp license plate, and your license plates will come in the mail in a few weeks.

Awesome. Thanks @StarSpeedX !

Plan to charge to a maximum of 80% except as needed before a long road trip. Arrange to have a home charging solution in place as soon as possible.

Congratulations! This is an awesome place to learn more about the car. While not related to Plainview directly, I found a couple of threads useful in the immediate pre- and post-delivery period:

Good luck!

This is great...I'll read through this and start putting a list together. Thanks everyone!
