2025 Lucid Air Pure

I encounter these conditions every time I use Highway Assist. A very average experience.

Yeah, it’s a fair review of the system, even though it’s not 100% positive. The general message I’m seeing in many reviews lately is that people genuinely love the car, but the software comments persist.

Lucid needs to get more aggressive with its software updates. You can’t have more hardware in a car that then underperforms competitors with less.

So the software will continue to improve over time.
DDP is in perpetual beta like other ADASs and AI I suppose.
Pay to get the DDP hardware.

Not sure I'd ever actually use some of the features.
I hate driving down mountain decents.
FOMO is my motivation.

Time is of the essence though. It’s been 3 years and whilst some updates have been released to DDPro recently, Lucid is still playing catch up to its competitors in this space.

What more could you possibly want? I just did a 600 mile trip where the car drove all but an hour of the 10 hour drive. Dream Drive drove the entire way for all intents and purposes.

This is pretty much my experience too. It’s not perfect, but it’s really damn good, at least on the roads I’ve traveled.

And of course it will keep improving. 👍

I agree that it works very well in almost all instances. The next major update I'm looking forward to is the true hands-free (even if geo-fenced), which I get in my wife's Suburban which has the latest iteration of Super Cruise, which makes long road trips a breeze.

Did you even watch the video? The system is simply untrustworthy. It will function perfectly and then suddenly throw a fit for no apparent reason. I’ve had similar experiences with it. When it works, it works well, but it’s certainly not perfect.

It's interesting that the reviewer ranked pretty much all the Korean ADAS systems below the Air's . . . and that there have been spy shots of a Gravity on the road in South Korea accompanied by rumors that Lucid was turning to a Hyundai subsidiary for sourcing some ADAS hardware or software.

That's kinda where I am.

I'm a Lucid, specifically Gravity, hostage. I keep considering running away. It's just part of my research/information gathering process; always try to have a second option to compare the first option with. Kinda like getting a second medical opinion.

None of these systems from these car makers are perfect.

I like the "perpetual beta mindset". For me it's congruent with "Compromise Nothing"; continuous improvment. I prefer that over catching up to the competition and then stopping. I see Lucid as a newbie, never stopping. No ICE products to use as a life preserver.

Lucid will get my $6,750 because I hope to realize that value over time.

An ad with "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" would be too corny and cliche, but that's my hope.

Not perfect, but Kyle did say at the beginning that the software has improved.
The video shows a need for more improvement.
An update could come out tomorrow to fix the lane change assist issue he experienced.
The speed sign recognition was hit and miss.

Researching ADAS reviews of competitor now; like EX90 (42 minute mark). Different conditions from Lucid ADAS review.

Why would you uses ADAS? It’s a drivers car. I will never trust my life with assisted driving features. Like the early warning systems but everything else may get you killed some day. I don’t even use Tesla FSD, it is not trustworthy.

Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean that others share your opinion.

Call me when any car gets a ADAS system safer than my driving…I bet you that won’t happen in my lifetime. Till then, I’ll just drive my own damn car, the best damn car period.

Like I said, just because you don’t value something doesn’t mean that others don’t.

No need to be a smart ass about it.

Okay, I guess? Just because you don’t use a feature doesn’t mean other people won’t find it useful.
Exactly! If people didn’t value ADAS systems you wouldn’t see automakers spending millions on improving them with every model that’s released.

Also, just saying, I’m not sure this added anything of value to the conversation. I literally LOL’d when I read this because of its phrasing and how random it was.

Look at the Tesla crash data…guess why Musk wants Trump to force NHTSA to trash requirement for crash data reporting. It’s quite obvious. But agree, if someone who doesn’t mind putting their life at risk, that is their business. But again if that Tesla crashes and kills someone who didn’t sign up for being in an experiment , who is responsible? Tesla and that person who ignorantly put everyone’s life at risk is responsible. Tesla has clauses that makes sure they are not liable.

The last split second, FSD disengaged, so it’s the drivers fault- is what Tesla will hide behind.

It’s premature technology, not ready for prime time. There is a lot of ignorance out there.

Just drive, it’s safer. Don’t believe Musk.
