Nylon screws for license plate?

Has anyone replaced their license plate screws with nylon screws? In the past I've had the screws cause rust streaks down the license plate and I'd like to avoid that with this car. I'm considering replacing mine with nylon screws but don't want to cause any problems. Is there any reason I shouldn't?

Or stainless steel. The correct size is M5 x 0.8 x 10mm. If you're near Cupertino CA I could give you some stainless security screws. I have a bag of 100 (well, 98)!

I’d never heard of using nylon screws in this application, but a bit of Googling suggests that they would absorb water and swell, and are not very UV resistant. Not good attributes for license plate screws…
