Next update?

I don’t disagree with you in general, but I’ll challenge this somewhat - take Alexa as a great example. Amazon absolutely had an SLA for Lucid (one would hope) and other such support contracts; but that doesn’t mean that they have to actually invest in Alexa for Auto and make it better. Whenever Alexa broke, Lucid got blamed, whether it was their fault or not. When Alexa couldn’t answer questions - Lucid got blamed.

And if Amazon doesn’t care? Good luck.
I'd argue that Google has a business model around voice assistants (gathering in-home and in-car search data to make their advertising sales more profitable), while Alexa didn't do much financially for Amazon. In any event, it's a complex and fuzzy topic. The enduring Make vs Buy decision, and from Whom. There's no right answer, only educated guesses, then live and adapt with the consequences.

Yup. Couldn’t agree more.

It is a matter of whether the media/navigation experience is something Lucid considers their differentiator. If they do, then it makes sense for them to invest and develop on their own. But if so, they can't leave it half-baked (well, they can, but then the differentiation would be "we suck and the others don't")

Also, when you are a startup with limited resources and too many areas where you want to differentiate, you have to know you can't focus everywhere all at once. So you start with something good enough (like Android Auto) until you can create something that is a true differentiator for you. Creating an entertainment system that does basic andoid auto and apple car play is as commoditized as it gets these days. With the computing hardware Lucid has, it should be a walk in the park doing this. I can see why it takes a few months, but then Lucid has been trying to do this for years now.

I have only had this car for a month now, so I am not as miffed as some of the others are about this. But even running v2.6.0 on my 2025 Air, I usually like using google maps on my phone. Lucid has ways to go before their media/nav is a differentiator.

Does using Google Maps over Carplay do preconditioning or route planning?

No. Lucid has not implemented the features to send vehicle data over CarPlay.
Though if your question was whether CarPlay is capable vs just Lucid's CarPlay, I think that feature only exists for Apple Maps, not Google Maps.

I think Google Maps' EV SOC estimation and route / charge planning is only available via Android Auto, or when running native on AAOS cars, not via Carplay.

I'm really getting annoyed that we're going on 6 months without a feature update...has there been ANY communication on next update features or timing? It's getting a bit ridiculous.
I would wait another few weeks. I think they are waiting on Gravity deliveries to start.
Also if the end goal is to make 3.0 rollover to Air it makes no sense to spend time on new features in 2.0. But if we have to wait many more months i would at-least hope they fix the bugs, locking and profile switching.

Seems like we've been waiting a few weeks for several months now.

I think we will not have any updates it won’t make any sense to do it since we are moving to UX3 and that is more than exciting but we have to be very berry extremely patient

next update coming is 2.6.15 per mobile service techs (I've been talking to them about dreamdrive issues this week)
I suspect being a "smaller" update as by the ".15" at the end, and not ".7.0" it addresses small issues with lock-ups or other small error messaging and not "chock full o' features" dessert-treats.

Yes I'm told there are some dream drive related fixes, which matches with what has been stated by the lucid rep in other threads

I don't think we should expect any Air OTAs any time soon. Doesn't look like it's a priority for Lucid as it is focused on rolling the Gravity out.

*And a few disclaimers for the regular fan base: 1. Lucid is a greatest car/technology company. 2. Nobody ever promised that any updates will come within any specific time frame. 3. No competitor even comes close in terms of other features/characteristics of the Lucid Air. 4. The majority of fresh owners have never been through what the pioneer owners have, thus they don't have a right to complain. Did I forget anything?

I am pretty sure that Lucid is working on new updates and bug fixes. After the last OTA's, Lucid may be taking extra time and caution to make sure there are no new bugs or issues with the updates.

I envy you guys experiencing updates. I picked my\ brand new Touring mid February and never had one. I am starting to wonder: is that a thing?

If you're impatient and anxious for UX3, place an order for the GDE or GGT. Problem solved 😀

OTAs used to come sporadically around a month apart. This is by far the longest dry spell the Air has had.
My own pure guess is that the current OTA constipation will improve within a few months.

For sure no need to worry about OTA diarrhea😉
