My one week old GT got a nail today in a groove within the tread. The GT is on 19 inch Pirellis. I will be taking the GT to my local tire repair shop on Monday. I would be grateful for any advice I should pass on to the repair shop regarding repairing a tire on a Lucid, to the extent of course that there is any difference from an ICE vehicle. Thank you .

Straight forward plug from a reputable tire shop. The more towards the center of the tread the better. As you approach the sidewall, it gets closer to a “maybe” fix. Sidewall plugs are a no no.

Congrats on the new car though!

Make sure you explain to him where it is safe to jack up the car (you can find that in the manual) and that the lug nuts need to be torqued to 150NM. That is much higher than shops are used to...

Blue Lectroid and TakeDuo, thank you both for your replies. The nail is approximately 1/3 into the top of the tire, thankfully not the side wall, and therefore should hopefully be repairable. The car has 117 miles and therefore no meaningful tire degradation. In closing, I absolutely love the car and whilst upset about the nail, I look forward to getting the tire fixed and the car back on the road. Happy New Year to you both.

Thanks for the kind words. Have a great New Year and enjoy your wonderful new car. I still have less than 300 miles on mine!!!

Congratulations on your Lucid! If you have not already done so, it is a good idea to get a tire warranty from Discount Tires or America’s Tires, depending on the state you live in. It is honored nationwide and will come in handy in cases where the tire is not repairable. Many of us have done this these first few weeks of ownership.
