This sounds cool.

Since I’m from LI I don’t want to cramp the style but this is tempting.

Hey, long-time first-time, etc.

Do y’all really go to these things? I mean maybe I’m just anti-social or it’s just not for me, but I just would never even consider it. Apart from the chance at the autographed hot wheel truly like what is there to do? I mean I came from a generational GM (mostly chevy) family and had a Mazda 3 for a little under 10 years before I got the Lucid (Sept/Oct ‘22) and have never heard of anything along these lines. I sort of understood with the newness of the rollout back in 22/23, just confused I guess. Is there something that I’m just completely missing?

I’m only asking because I got sent a personal follow up email from Lucid about this, which I truly only replied to request that I be taken off the email listing for future events. I am familiar with Cars and Coffee, and frequently go to car shows with my dad and uncles, and now my kids; but to me the appeal was always in seeing cars you DON’T have, but maybe that’s on me? Is it B2B networking? I mean I always assumed most Lucid owners are executive/manager level, but maybe that’s a crummy perspective. I’m just completely confused by the endeavor.

I’m genuinely curious and really I promise you I’m not trying to be a prick.

For some people it is a way to find out more about the car. For car nerd, they were able to ask service techs and engineers questions. For people who didn't get a chance to learn their cars in and out, they were able to have questions answered. For others, it's a chance to commiserate with other owners over ownership experience. I like attending any events I can to meet people. I have met some very close friends through this car. I attended an event just to meet my fellow mods. All sorts of reasons!

We went to the Chicago one. It was nice. Got to meet a few staff. A talk with one of the execs. Got to see lots of interior parts of the car, which I like.
Got to see the main Goose Island facility and mobile van, and networked a bit with a couple other owners.
It was fun.
I wouldn't go to every one, but maybe future events on days I have nothing going on. It was fun.

Fair enough, I figured the appeal of the human element (again, pretty anti-social - don’t even really like my closest friends that much, tbh ;) I mean really just my cat), but I guess I never really thought of the “tech/knowledge base” aspect which is actually a little interesting. I mean not interesting enough for me to get the car detailed and presentable (i.e., all of my kids crap out of the back seat) by the weekend, but interesting nonetheless.

Thanks for the answer. I appreciate your reply.

Getting car back today or tomorrow from KOP (work is done), but am tied up with work and/or daughter's final lacrosse tournament (ironically, not far from KOP) this weekend. Hope to attend a gathering soon!

I attended the Event at the renowned Larz Anderson Auto Museum. Very cool and interesting place. Arrived late due to weather and some detouring off I91 in CT. From what I gathered we were able to explore the Museum before we headed out for a drive to the Natick Delivery/Service center. I unfortunately missed the group Lucid car picture, but my girlfriend was in the picture. We also had decals for the number we arrived at the event. There were 28 cars there plus 5 demo cars. There was more quantum grey cars than other colors with Stella White being 2nd and the Fathom Blue.
It was a pretty good group for a rainy morning. Being the last to arrive I got to be the lead car as we headed to the Natick center. The route to the center allowed for some fast driving in spots and then some twist and turns.
At the Service/delivery center we got to walk the repair and prep area. Look at Zenith Red and infinite Black stealth glass/hardtop Touring. The diffuser area with a touring on a lift, the frunk stripped down and the new stealth wheels which look sick. Also learned that the break calibers are not Brembo but Akebono calibers and my girlfriend got to make a suggestion to Steven David during QA part of the event, that would allow people to keep their Aero inserts on while still showing off the wheel interior.
I also got to talk to a nice woman from MA who highly recommended the sunshade glass canopy and she told me her replacement windshield was $10k (rock to window). We also got a cool passport which if Lucid does more events, they should handout passport stickers so we can fill the book if we attend other events.

@NanoGauntlet thanks for sharing! Was great meeting new owners and folks on this forum. This is why I go to these rallies. We have an amazing community. Here are a few pics. The last two are for chuckles. We thought that the animal on the fan was the Lucid Bear until we saw the fan name - was one of my favorite sightings in the service center :).
