Lucid Ocean? With Fisker now bankrupt, another EV automaker is swooping in on the trademark

Loved the original Fisker released back in 2013 one of the most stunning cars on the road. Saw one on the highway last week still a stunner.

From a marketing perspective, I was kind of shocked that they would want to secure a name that's already associated with the stigma of a failed EV effort. Seems like bad karma to me. Maybe that why we never saw Ford jostling for the Corvair name.
Less than half the 10,000 Fisker Oceans built were delivered. I suspect that if you exclude car enthusiasts, most people have never heard of the Fisker Ocean. Compare that to the ~1.8 million Corvairs sold over its lifetime.

I thought I was the only one who liked the way the Karma looked. Quite a pioneer as an early hybrid. Of course, keeping the battery pack working is a challenge now and it won’t run without it

Too bad the production cars were put together like prototypes....

I guess that 99.99% of consumers have never heard of the Fisker Ocean. I think its a great name for a future Lucid vehicle. Just my opinion.

An acquaintance in my old car club bought all the remaining oceans. Right now they are being stored in a warehouse of another friend from the same car club in north Jersey He plans to rent them out on a daily or longer basis

He should name the warehouse "Davy Jones' Locker" 🤣🤣🤣

12 years later That car still turns heads every time you see one. There was one at cars and coffee, parked in between an air and a plaid. All the attention went to the Fisker. Aesthetically, they were pretty much loved by everyone.

Have you ever sat in one? They are considered a compact because the interior size is minuscule. They are pretty to look at ( hey Fisker even penned my Z8) but just the opposite of Lucid’s design philosophy on maximizing interior space by minimizing everything else.

Had one for about 18 months back in 2014. Awesome 2 look at but once the 4 banger kicked in after EV was used up that was awful

I agree - very nice to look at. Horrible dimensions internally. Fit of the interior was horrible too.

Terrible performance as well.
