Lucid Gravity gaining access to Supercharger network, Air access planned for Q2 2025

It seems Tesla has opened the network. Lucid has been moved up to “supported” group from “coming soon”. That’s positive

Feel bad for Kia folks but they have a workaround (Kia owners select Hyundai ioniq and able to charge their Kia EV6) 😂

Anyone try their air with an adapter? Just curious

I wonder if the new 2025 Air will have the same tech as the gravity enabling the 225kw speed and if older models will be blocked at a lower speed.

The Air uses the Wunderbox to convert the voltage, and it is limited 50kW. Maybe in a future model they will use the motor inverter like the Gravity does, but not the 2025. It is a major redesign for the Air.

In my opinion it will be a few years, and they will produce the mid sized SUV first. Just my opinion. It will coincide with the switch to native NACS I think.

Yeah I just realized the gravity use the back motor and air everything is in front. Depending on NACS deployment on other fast charging network, we could see an update for 2026, but maybe more in 2027.

I’d be surprised on a 2026. Maybe a NACS port but no location change or wunderbox upgrade. 2027 at the earliest would be my guess.

How about using a NACS adapter from Ford or Rivian?.

IMO they will work for the Air no problem - once the SC is open to Airs, of course.

The adapter has no intelligence. It just routes the power to the correct pins.

The A2Z Typhoon Pro and Lectron Vortex have the 500 amp, 1000V ratings you'd need for safety when using any random CCS vehicle with any random V3 or V4 supercharger. Other manufacturers' NACS->CCS adapters may not be rated for 500 amps (Hyundai/Kia), or not for 1000V (Ford/Rivian? - don't know about this).

I tried my NACS adapter with no success.
On the Tesla app if you select Lucid Air, it will show only magic dock superchargers on the map.
I selected Gravity to see what happens.
The appropriate supercharger locations now appeared on the map. Then I could select which stall to charge at. So I plugged in and he app said "Your vehicle is not able to charge at Supercharger at this time".

My Ford adapter is rated for 1000V.
