Lucid Gravity - First ride in Production vehicle!

I was also a little unclear on ownership but IMO the driver was being intentionally cagey about some of the details.

Chill man. Maybe he just didn't know the answer and was worried about saying something on a video that the entire internet might see.

Lets just appreciate the fact that a production Gravity was out in the wild, and being appreciated at an EV car meet.

It wasn't a criticism. I am grateful for the video (I said as much in an earlier post). With all the suspicions about NDAs etc. I was merely saying that he might have been giving wide berth to making too many comments.

Agreed. Overall, this was a great video that beautifully showcased the Gravity. I am sure more will start rolling out soon.

I understand some frustrations, but let's keep the focus on the Gravity itself rather than the YouTuber's style, speculation about what @Tesla2Lucid could or couldn't say, or of the generous owner who lent their vehicle.

The most significant aspect of this event was the attention the Gravity garnered upon its arrival. It wasn’t just Lucid owners flocking around it; there were numerous other EV enthusiasts to the point where it was difficult to initially get close to the vehicle. Although it was a Lucid Owners Event, it was also a SoCalEVs event, with the organizer essentially stating, “The Gravity stole the show.”

Can't get any better PR than that. The sooner Lucid gets more of these on the road the better.

I'm a little confused about who owns this car and how they were allowed to film it. I think neither the driver or passenger own this car, right? So, the owner is unknown or anon enough to allow this b/c Lucid can't 100% pinpoint who broke the (perhaps unspoken) agreement of no videos in production vehicle?

It’s not complicated. There is no NDA for folks who got their cars, but not everyone who buys cars likes publicity or fame, particularly when they are one of the only ones on the road.

There is value in privacy and anonymity.

@Tesla2Lucid knows someone who generously lent them the vehicle for the event, but would prefer to (at least for now) not be public about it. That should be respected.

Because @Tesla2Lucid doesn’t own the vehicle, there are a lot of things he simply didn’t have the answer to because he didn’t know it.

Please let this be the end of the speculation, and please let’s get back to talking about the gravity.

Ah, the ‘shinkansen” for design inspiration! I can see the bullet train styling cues especially clearly, with the Gravity parked right next to that big, clunky behemoth of an SUV, whatever that is.

100% noticed this right away. It has been devoid in Tesla and my lucid air. Very appreciative for grab handles as my knees start to creek more and more! Great observation!

For all those who know me, thank you for the cover in the previous posts! For all those who don’t know me, I’m a legend in my own mind so that’s on you! My favorite comment above from a newbie is how I, to paraphrase, I’m not a very good Lucid brand ambassador . Hey, but it’s the Internet, like buttholes and opinions, everybody’s got one!

And yes, to clear the air, this is a production car, but so early that the motor noise on the steering column, as well as, what you did not hear for the rear seats, may be a preproduction motor. I would call this car a production mule because the owner is doing a lot of tinkering!

I picked up the Gravity and drove it directly to the event. I was one hour late to the event and was so extremely stressed that I was texting and calling people at the same time. I was trying to get familiar with the car. The next time I drove, the car was when ChargePozitive did this video and I gave him the caveat that I didn’t know much about it. In general, my philosophy is under-promise and overdeliver so any type of hedging a bet or being cagey was simply me, not knowing and nothing to do with any NDA! I think it’s already been pointed out, but indeed the car does have rear wheel steer; if it was edited out of the video, I clearly stated that I was not sure.

That behemoth is a 9,300-pound Cadillac Escalade IQ . . . with less seating room than the Gravity.

It’s an amazing vehicle, I have a strong feeling that once people get ahold of it in the real world they are going to be more than impressed. Turn radius, which I tested once seemed fantastic for a car of this size. I strongly believe that rear wheel steering was involved.

I’m excited to see more. @Tesla2Lucid is a real champ and deserves a lot of credit for making these events hits. The Gravity blew everyone away; but if this would have been a published part of the event we would have had reporters and journalists ruining the small “owners” event we had which was a real treat to spend time with the vehicle.

Keep all eyes on Lucid, if we can get into full speed production I expect big things from the company and hopefully (perhaps selfishly) the stock!!
