Lucid Gravity 3.4.0 software update

Update 3.4.1 brought a lot of quality of life improvements for me. Spotify is better, I have zero incidents when the car won’t start, and many settings are now saved when you switch profiles. Indeed, it was much better than before. But…

Tomorrow they will be picking my car up and lending me a loaner, probably an Air, because the car is unstable, with plenty of warnings everywhere: high beams, backup sensors, pedestrian collision warnings, not able to use the ACC and so on…

I took delivery of my 2026 Gravity on December 31st, and the update is what should have been there on day one, but I haven’t had a single day without incidents, some serious, some don’t, but it is never the same.

Lucid had sent me custom updates for my false sensor warnings that still are present in v3.4.1. I already demanded a full payback and refund, but before that, they wanted to examine the car by themselves. I really hope nobody passes for the terrible experience that I had with this vehicle.

Keep us posted if you don't mind. Sometimes I wish Amazon would sell cars so you could return them if they are not what you expected.
I have advised against buying or considering a Gravity to anyone who has asked me. This is clearly costing Lucid more than it would cost them to just fix my car, but they don't seem to care.

Well my center console has stopped recognizing the key card for driving.
I had the original console replaced last September; a month after delivery.
Not sure exactly when it stopped since I rarely use it.
I probably haven't used the key car for driving/moving the car in about a month. I usually use the key fob.
I'm not convinced this isn't related to the newest update because I don't think I've used the key card to drive since the newest update.
I do know it was working before the newest update.

I usually, out of habit, press the brake after getting seated, but sometimes I fiddle with the music or something else that goes beyond the two-minute window when you don't need to tap the key card. In the past, this hasn't been an issue, until last night. The two-minute window not requiring the card still works.

I exited the car, let is sit for 10 minutes, and tried again; same result.
Let it sit overnight, tried again this morning, same result.
This really isn't a big deal since, if I press the brake pedal upon entry (my norm), I can sit and fiddle for as long as I want and the car goes into gear.
The wireless charging pad still works.

I did notice shortly after the installation of this new console, the cupholders area seemed somewhat loose when removing drinks.
Didn't think much of it until last night, so I pulled on the rear edge of the console, below the charging pad and the tray came up with hardly any effort. See pic below.
Since it's not a big deal for me, I'm considering waiting until my 12-month service appointment to have it replaced; I'll notify them at least a month in advance to hopefully account for the time needed to have a new one at the time of my appointment.

There’s a service bulletin for the center console NFC area specifically. I know your console was replaced, but I am wondering if it’s still in need of being checked out.

At some point, my NFC in center console stopped working too. But, since the B pillar key card fix allows you to start the car if needed, I just put the center console issue on my list….

I also experienced this but it worked the third time... haven't tried more since then because I don't really use it much. Will probably also check it near my next appointment

had my first key fob failure yesterday even with 3.4
started right up with card, and today no problem. also today couldn't play music - "internet not found" for an hour. now working

according to this picture, you've installed the battery without removing the packaging. Amateur mistake.

For those of us inflicted with the awful charging bug (throttling/de-rating, whatever you want to call it, it's just a horrible experience). I will say the update has had a huge NEGATIVE impact on this vehicle. So much so, when people ask me about the Gravity overall, I really can't be positive and recommend it to them. Knowing some owners are impacted by it and others are not, is like pouring salt into a wound for those of us dealing with it. Seriously, how are you supposed to recommend this vehicle knowing someone else may have to go through this frustration???

At first, after doing research, testing on multiple different L2 chargers and tracking the awful charging habits of my Gravity, it seemed like the vehicle's AC charging hardware needed to be addressed. Which it still does! At that time, I was able to hold 48A continuous charge. But after the software upgrade and NOW not being able to hold any continuous charge, being throttled at whatever amperage I come in at, it has taken a turn for the worse and showed itself to be both a hardware and software issue. Adding to the frustration is the lack of concern, or expediency being shown by Lucid regarding this issue, both at corporate and through the service centers.

Being able to properly charge your vehicle is one of the most important functions of an EV. They like to tout the Gravity excepting 19.2kw and being able to fully charge at this limit in 7 1/2 hours because of their "technology". Well, that technology is broken!!! Last night it took me 4 1/2 hours to go from SOC 49%-80% at an average 36A after being throttled twice starting 15 mins into the charging session. I can only imagine how many hours a 0-100% charge try would entail...Ok, thanks for listening...I'm jumping off my soapbox now....

I understand where you're coming from. But to give you a little bit of perspective, at least you can drive your car. My car was bricked by the software update and has been sitting in my garage for 11 days. It's still dead. They're ordering a new access control system that they hope will fix the issue, but if it doesn't, it then needs to get towed 200 miles to a service center. I will most likely be out of my gravity for at least 2 weeks before even having the hope of driving it again.

I know that it's never great to take solace in other's misery, but you can at least drive and charge your car. Look for the silver lining, at least for now.

But to your main point, it's really hard to recommend the car to others, especially for people who are used to things "just working". I still love the car, but I may have forgotten what it's like to actually use it at this point. I hope they can figure these things out because I want Lucid to be successful.

I still get that frequently after 3.4.1, without any pattern to where it goes out (i.e. doesn't seem to be consistent dead zones). Looked like it was working better but the last few days it's right back to frequent drop-outs. Streaming stops, and I have to switch to FM like it's 1985.

On top of that, even when I do have an internet signal, Spotify completely locks up as soon as an ad starts. Not every time, but probably every other. Can't even change playlists. Gotta switch to SXM or FM. Spotify usually stays frozen at the start of the ad for the duration of that drive, and sometime the next drive as well.

Getting consistent audio content in this car is like throwing darts at a dartboard.

Live View remains dead for me. WiFi/Cellular, doesn't matter.
I even have a screen shot where it briefly says it's working, showing my current address, but the video feed is from days ago.

SWFeedback must be tired of me by now.

Just so you know you're not alone, I have the same situation with Live View. Deleting/reinstalling the app didn't do anything to help, although it did clear that stale images that had been saved in the app from the one time many months ago that it did work. Not the end of the world, especially since 3.4.1 took care of the most egregious bugs, but it's still a curious situation.

Yeah, I signed out of everything but Tidal (forgot to do that one) and it was being glitchy. Signing it out and back in again seems to have fixed it. (Well, at least as fixed as the terrible Tidal interface can be)

Mine connects if I am not connected to wifi. Very odd, but it does. On wifi, I only ever got it to connect once.
