Kim Java Preview of the Lucid Gravity

Let's bring this back on topic 😁

Gents, why are we forced to choose between Tesla and Lucid? My wife loves her Model X because the FSD, even supervised at the current stage, takes an enormous pressure off her daily commute in Miami. Meanwhile, I love my G580 because it drives like a tank, and I am hyped about the upcoming delivery appointment for my Gravity.

There are brands for different types of people. Let’s coexist. I won’t buy another Tesla because I think they are plastic toys (unfortunately, I have owned too many of them). Still, I am not going to stop people from admiring or loving theirs. People here make fun of Tesla and its fanboys while they themselves display similar behaviors. It is not healthy.

Back to the topic, Kim is one of the early adopters of EVs in the US, and I respect her opinion. She has openly criticized Tesla's lack of innovation many times, and she loves to try all types of EVs. I wouldn’t put her in the Tesla cult just yet. Apparently she loves the Gravity. Good enough for me.

Exactly!

Nobody here has said the opposite. Hell, @Steveinarizona has no Lucid at all and posts regularly. Nobody is tar and feathering him either. :)

People are allowed to like whatever they want. The corollary to that, however, that people seem to constantly be unwilling to accept, is: people are allowed to dislike whatever they want, as well.

People make fun of Tesla for lots of reasons. People make fun of Lucid for lots of reasons. And that is all fine.

It’s super entertaining to see how bad people fanboy in these forums no matter the brand. I bet 90% of the people here will be driving their 100-120k Gravity from point A to point B, driving kids to school, taking their family out to dinner, never taking it off road, using dream drive sometimes because it’s a glorified adaptive cruise and so on. And the same people shit on people driving teslas, most of which are 40-60k model 3’s and Y’s because they do the same mundane stuff, yet their Tesla does it for them with FSD? It’s truly hilarious to read. Grow up. Some people don’t like to drive, some people do. Some people don’t care about high end leather and materials, some people do. Some people like to buy things for the “just in case” and waste money over spending and some people are practical and buy only the size of the vehicle they truly need. It’s a car, it’s not that serious.
I do agree with you to some extent. My dream car would be a Lucid Gravity with Waymo level FSD. Be in control and have fun at times and then tune out and go FSD at others. My biggest priority now is a good ADAS for mindless long highway drives. 15 years from now as I get into my 80’s my priorities will lean towards a good FSD car so I can just get in and just say “Hey Lucid, take me to the grandkids house.” Hopefully by then we will have numerous choices from economy to luxury with Level 5 autonomy.

Of course, thank you for confirming that we are also allowed to dislike this type of pointless name-calling behavior. You like your car; you enjoy it. I would never call any enthusiasts of any brands “fanboys” and dismiss their loyalty or preference to their liking; similarly, I don’t want to be called a Lucid fanboy and got dismissed as such. It is pretty easy to apply a double standard nowadays.

OP, sorry for the hijacking here. It won’t happen again.
