When my car is in the garage, I want to keep it unlocked. Every time I go out to get something out of my car I get there and realize my car is locked and I have to go back in and get the key. When I unlock from the app, the car seems to lock itself (very quickly). Please tell me there is a way to keep it unlocked.

Turn off passive lock. Settings, vehicle, locks

Turn off passive locking in the settings on the Pilot Panel. It will only lock when you physically press in the door handle or lock via the app.

Keep in mind that the above behavior will happen no matter where you are at. I know other popular EV car brands can geo fence your home to keep doors unlocked only at your house. At this time, lucid can not do this from my understanding. It’s either no passive unlock/lock or passive unlock/lock.

Geofencing has been on the wishlist for a long time.

Definitely! I just didn’t want OP to leave his car unlocked in public. Thanks for the confirmation Bobby.

Thanks! I'm happy to hear this is a possibility. I'll look into those settings, and appreciate the clarification about needing to explicitly lock after I enable the feature.

I can lock the doors by pushing the handle in? It looks like I can also unlock the doors by pushing the handle in?? I feel like there are so many hidden features. Is there a list somewhere? I randomly discovered launch mode just by playing around in the menus. That was a nice little surprise.

Yep. I keep the car unlocked so I can get in and out of it in my garage and I have trained myself to lock the car when I leave. Of course, if Alzheimer's rears its ugly head, I could forget but I can always check in the app and lock it with the app.

🤦🏼‍♂️

How do I get the car to "turn off"? Now that I'm keeping it unlocked it seems to stay on for at least a while after I go into my house. My phone stays connected to it and I can't watch videos on my phone because the bluetooth is still connected to the car.

It'll shut off after about 10 min.

That's not quite true, since it turns off passive locking only for stationary vehicles. A problem I have with passive locking is after I move the car. I can't believe that it's not on the wish list and I can't be the only one who finds it a problem, but every other car I can find will lock once the car hits somewhere between 7 and 15 mph, if it has the feature. Lucid does it as soon as the car moves. So if I back out of the garage at 2 mph, I have to actively unlock the car to let passengers in. If this were a good idea, other auto makers would adopt the practice. I don't see any other company doing this.

I can't find any way of changing this, and I can't think of any advantage of automatically locking a car that's going 2-3 miles per hour.

You could also put the car in park.

I could, but I'd still have to press the icon on the dashboard to unlock it.
I’m not with my car, but I’m pretty certain my car unlocks when I put it in park. I certainly don’t have to hit the unlock button to let my wife out when I park.

Mine doesn't.

She can open the door and it will unlock from inside. But from the outside, the car will remain locked.

Ohhhhh that makes sense. I stand corrected!

I thought this to be an issue for awhile already as my garage is too narrow to have passengers on the right side get in until after I reverse out of the garage.

Procedure:
1- Enter vehicle
2- Reverse
3- Stop
4- Toggle to park
5- Press unlock button
6- Passengers Enter vehicle
7- Drive

Where it should just be 3 steps
1- ALL Enter vehicle
2- Reverse
3- Drive

Same deal with my garage, edhu, but I don't have to put the car in park as an interim step. You can unlock the doors while in reverse or drive without putting it in Park.

So, it's :
1 - Enter vehicle
2 - reverse
3 - stop, put car in drive
4- unlock doors
5 - passenger gets in
6 - drive away

If you're in hold mode and/or have your foot on the brake. :)
