Hyundai / Kia / Genesis vehicles are joining other automakers in switching to AAOS/GAS with native Google Maps, etc. "Soon, these vehicles will come equipped with the latest Google Maps Platform, giving drivers access to information about 250 million places worldwide....Google makes more than 100 million updates to Google Maps each day"

Seems they’ve abandoned HERE who is still the leader in HD Mapping over Google. What will be interesting to see is if Hyundai / Kia’s ADAS gets better or worse with this decision.

I really like the approach of using Android Automotive OS, but would also be good with Google Maps in the Lucid....particularly if it let the map fill the whole screen like the native HERE maps do now (vs. the smaller CarPlay rectangle). The Cadillac Lyriq has a similarly shaped screen as the Lucid and Google Maps fills it nicely:

As nice as this would be to have, and it would be nice, I'm not about to trade in my Air for one. I test drove the Ioniq 5 before getting my second Air, because if insurance hadn't come through with the full replacement value, I would have had to go with something much less expensive. No choice. Probably the Ioniq 5 or 6. But you just can't replace the Lucid's ride. I was so happy I could stay with Lucid, even without AA.
I feel the same frustration every other Android user is feeling right now. And I'm pretty much ignoring those threads because there's nothing any of us can do. And I'm not one to spend a lot of time getting angry about something that I can't have an effect on or make better. It doesn't do anything for my own sanity or happiness. All cars are compromises of features, and there's still nothing out there I'd want instead of my GT.

Agreed, but it does make E-GMPs much more attractive as a second car.
