I'm trying to install my new Home Charger and I can't get by step 2 ... removing the front cover. I took out the two torque head screws and was able to slide the cover about 1/2 inch but no more. The cover won't come off and it wont slide any father...even with some gentle hammering via a wood strip. I don't want to break the damn thing and would welcome any suggestions from similar experience.

Unfortunately it takes some brute force

Yah it's not easy
The two home chargers I installed were both the same. I thought I was going to brake both.
I had to set my purse down and man up to remove the covers.

To echo what everyone else has said, it takes some strength to open the cover.

My suggestion: Once slide the cover up as far as you can (about 1"), use a small flat head screwdriver on the top right corner to pop the first plastic clip, then slide the screwdriver to the middle and pop the 2nd one. Repeat at the bottom and one side will be off. The cover will come off easily after that.

I did it a couple times and this helps to prevent damage to the cover.

Pressing down firmly in the center of the cover while pulling back on the edges (spreading the cover like breaking a potato chip) helped pull mine off. It's easier the third or fourth time.
