True. It would be "ert" for a lot of people. The management at work used to code name projects with Greek goddess names until one of them was named Tethys. When all the non-Anglophone engineers started talking about it, it sounded a lot more like something you weren't supposed to be to talking about at work. We started referring to that one only by it's number.Not a fan of the name "Earth" for a car, do you know how hard it is to pronounce for non-Anglophones?
Just use Gaia, it's the same and every human on earth can pronounce it.
