If you have or will be ordering a Gravity and it were available in 5-, 6-, or 7-passenger configuration, which would you order?

The 6 seater, and I shared why in the other thread. If I had to make a dream configuration, I would take a 4 seater with the 2nd row moved towards where the third row currently is (like a LWB Range Rover)!

How do you like your EV9? In your opinion, how does the EV9 compare with the Gravity?

You're reminding me of what I loved most about my VW EuroVans -- with the two middle rear-facing jump seats in or better removed, the "third row" bench seat was six feet behind the front bucket seats, super-spacious, super-flexible. Passengers (wife and kids, buddies, kids' buddies) with feet up on coolers back there watching movies on longer trips.

I had the same Eurovan. My kids and the dog loved it! Great for long trips!

Mechanically, the Eurovan is a dog...under-powered and mechanical problems. But the cabin seating and room was great! That said, I kept mine for 26 years.

Having grown up with minivans, first having the bench in the 2nd row then my parents getting one with the captains chairs for the 2nd row…..
I would say the captain’s chairs are better as the flexibility of having the space between the two seats was very nice to have for legroom for those in the back, or for carrying long items/food coolers/access to items in the back during a road trip.
Combined with the fact that I have found that reclining either of the 2nd row outboard seats (if the center seat back does not recline), or trying to recline the seat that isn’t attached to the center seat (ex. 60/40 split), can cause your shoulder to hit/have to curl to fit. This is not pleasant!

I see the 2nd row bench as something for someone that wants to use the Gravity as a people hauler (over short time periods), or doesn’t want to have the third row which makes it basically large mid size crossover then with plenty of interior space! One other advantage of the bench is that middle seat works well for placing items not on the floor.

Wait great idea (in my head) middle seat of the 2nd row bench fold down to floor independently of the outboard seats! Best of both worlds, but more complicated to engineer and expensive of course.

I was about to order on the first day but didn’t since I’d prefer the 6 seat with the captains chairs. I’ll wait.

The impression I get is that captains chairs aren’t coming. I don’t have that with a direct source I’ll name, and don’t bet money on it, but I would be very surprised if they ever show up.

I hear from a sales rep that they do have gravity vehicle prototypes with captains chairs.

And? They made Air prototypes with the executive rear seating that was eventually canned. There are also Gravity prototypes with CCS connectors, but we'll never see those either. If @borski says they'll likely never make it to production, I'd trust him.

Any reason you can tell us?
