Going by the animation on the website, the middle seats do not fold into the floor like the third row. That's if you can trust the animation as a realistic representation of in-real-life.
There doesn't seem to be a recessed area for the middle seats to go into like the third row.
The mats on the middle row seem pretty flush with the floor and in place.
I don't see a tripping hazard, but ... anything is possible.
And while the animation shows the 3rd row headrests folding forward as you fold them into the rear well, I hope there is a way to fold those headrests when the 3rd row is not being used for added rear visibility. I usually leave the 3rd row in place so that there is a hidden space behind it to keep shopping bags hidden. I'm also struggling with the fact that if I want to stow the 3rd row for larger storage that I only occasionally need, then I have to give up the rear storage area where I typically keep a bunch of coats (SF Bay Area micro-climates) and other useful thing. Perhaps I'll have to start using the frunk area more often. Perhaps they are 3 position - upright for passengers, folded forward for some added bulk storage, and stowed for maximum storage?
