We are nice enough to have an owner volunteer to do an AMA about their ownership experience with the Gravity so far.

Please post a question but also if your question has been asked, please vote it up so the most sought after questions are at the top of the list.

Anything off topic or not a question will be deleted. Keep this organized!

I'm Annie, @borski's wife. Many of you know him and his original Air Dream Edition well from his activity here!

I'm the lucky owner he mentioned, and I'm really excited to chat with you all today about my Lucid Gravity.

I've had the incredible opportunity to be driving a Gravity for a little while now! We actually have a Dream Edition on order, and Lucid has graciously allowed us to drive this one until ours is ready for delivery. I don’t know why we were so lucky, but I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity. :) It has been such an amazing experience, and I'm happy to share some of my real-world impressions with this fantastic community. I held off on posting much sooner mainly because I wanted some time to just enjoy the car first, especially knowing how many great questions you all would have! :)

Getting behind the wheel has been truly special. Borski can tell you I keep calling it my 'spaceship'! 😉 It is definitely a unique and impressive vehicle, and I fully understand all the excitement around it.

I see so many thoughtful questions have already been posted. Thank you for your enthusiasm and for using the voting! It really helps me see what topics you are most curious about.

I am going to start diving in now and answering as many questions as I can based on my time with the car. Please bear with me as I work through them!

Really looking forward to sharing and chatting with you all!

Can you describe how this drives differently from the Air?

Did you own another SUV before acquiring the gravity? If so, what brand/model? In terms of space (passenger and cargo), how does the Gravity compare with your old/former SUV, especially in terms of accommodating large, bulky items (e.g., strollers, kids care seats, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.)?

1. Is it quieter than Air?
2. Is it more comfortable / softer than Air?

Thanks in advance.
First off, when it comes to acceleration and regenerative braking (@hydbob), it honestly feels very much like @borski's Air Dream Edition. You get that instant Lucid pickup and the smooth, predictable regen, and it all just carries over really well between the two cars. It makes switching back and forth easy; I don't really have to think about adjusting how I drive.

Where things feel pretty different (@hydbob , @marsarbu) is the handling, turning, and just how easy it is to move around. That rear-wheel steering makes a huge difference here. The turning radius is fantastic. You can really feel it's tighter than the Air's, which makes parking and getting into tight spots way easier than you'd expect for a vehicle this size. I actually think it handles a bit smoother in those situations than the Air. The steering feels really responsive and precise, too.

My last long-term SUV (@BS8899) was a Kia Sorento. The Gravity feels nothing like driving that Sorento. It's funny, when you're actually driving the Gravity, it feels much smaller and more nimble than it looks. It almost feels like driving a slightly higher sedan. Compared to my Hyundai IONIQ 5 (my other current EV SUV), the Gravity's driving just feels way more refined and connected, even though the Gravity is bigger. It's usually only when I glance in the mirror or turn to check a blind spot, and see all that room behind me, that I remember how spacious this thing really is!

The seating position (@hydbob) is definitely higher than the Air, more like a typical (but much nicer!) SUV setup. Height-wise, it's maybe kind of like the IONIQ 5, but I have to say the overall comfort and visibility in the Gravity feel much better. A big part of that comfort for me is the steering wheel. It sits nice and low, completely below the screens, so nothing blocks my view. I never have to peer through the wheel to see the displays. Honestly, after driving the Gravity, the steering wheel in the IONIQ 5 now feels like it's totally in the way of the instrument panel! That's something I never really noticed before… the Gravity definitely spoiled me there! Plus, the steering on the IONIQ 5 feels a lot looser now compared to how tight the Gravity feels.

For overall comfort and feel (@marsarbu), I'd say it definitely feels 'smoother' when you're handling and turning compared to the Air. The whole driving experience is just really refined. And it is incredibly quiet inside! Seriously, it's impressive how easy it is to have a conversation with people in the second or even third row without having to raise your voice or turn your head to the side. You can actually hear passengers behind you clearly, which is nice when you aren't facing them.

About the interior space (@BS8899, general interest). Wow. I was already impressed with the Air's space, but the Gravity is on another level. It's kind of like one of those “Harry Potter” tents! Seems way bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside! It’s incredibly spacious, but you don't feel like you're trying to steer a giant boat down the street. While I don't have large items like carseats in it (yet...), when thinking about our future needs, this is exactly the kind of vehicle that I can imagine accommodating a family with kids, car seats, luggage, and a dog or two. :) Plus, a detail I really appreciate for passenger comfort is that the third row has its own dedicated air conditioning vents! That makes a big difference back there (having melted in the third row of an Uber once or twice myself lol).

Very impressive answers, Annie!! 🥳 Thanks so much for your time!🤗🥰

I would agree with this. My one big complaint about the Air was always its turning radius; I eventually got used to it, and now it's second nature, but it is still a cause of anxiety occasionally when in really tight spots or alleys.

The Gravity does not have that problem, despite being the bigger car. It's pretty nuts.

Thank you to the owner for doing this!

Assuming you are well-versed with the Air, how does your Gravity’s fit and finish compare with early production Airs (22/23) and with later Airs (24/25)?
I think the interior of the Gravity is absolutely gorgeous. In my opinion, it might even look and feel a bit better than the Air. It feels like Lucid took all the attention to detail, the design focus, and the high-quality materials they used in the Air, and then just leveled it up for the Gravity.

Everything inside feels luxurious and thoughtfully put together. The materials are beautiful, and the accents they chose work really well. I also love the ambient lighting; it provides the light a passenger needs without distracting the driver. The ambient lighting also coordinates with things happening on screen at times, which is really cool!

A practical thing I've noticed, which was a concern with having nice things and potential future kids or messy passengers, is that the materials are surprisingly easy to clean. My niece was visiting, and let's just say I had a couple of moments where cleanup was needed, and it was no problem. That's a big plus for real-world use!

Also, thinking back to when we first got Borski's Air Dream Edition, the tech inside the Gravity feels significantly more advanced now. Everything is more responsive and boots up much faster. That contributes to the overall feeling of having refined the tech.

I'm incredibly impressed with the interior quality and feel. It definitely carries that special Lucid luxury, maybe even taking it a step further.

Hi all! So many great questions, thank you! ☺️

I really want to give thorough answers, not just quick ones, so this AMA session is definitely going to stretch beyond the initial 2-hour window. Also, just so you know, I'm dyslexic, which means reading through everything and typing out detailed responses can take me a bit longer. No worries, though, I'm happy to stick around and tackle as many questions as possible! I really appreciate everyone hanging in there with me. Thanks for your patience!

Thank you for this @TribbleTrouble. I am going to be asking my wife to read your responses as they are informative since we have a 7 year old.
