We are nice enough to have an owner volunteer to do an AMA about their ownership experience with the Gravity so far.

Please post a question but also if your question has been asked, please vote it up so the most sought after questions are at the top of the list.

Anything off topic or not a question will be deleted. Keep this organized!

Would really like to hear anything you have to say about driver assistance, like adaptive cruise control, changing speeds up/down as speed limits change, whether there's a useful display of surrounding traffic.

Wow, lots of great questions asking for specific measurements! Okay, I grabbed a tape measure and did my best to get some numbers for you all. Hope this helps!

First, about the underfloor storage area where the third row folds down (@bryway), I think you mean the sub-trunk? I measured the depth in there, and it looks like it's about 11 inches deep. I use this space all the time for groceries.

Regarding the second-row space (@JB67), I measured the seat cushion depth, and it’s approximately 20 inches deep.

For legroom, I put the driver's seat where it's comfy for me (I'm about 5'9") and measured behind it. With me sitting in the back seat, there was roughly 10 inches of space between the back of the driver's seat and my knees. View attachment 27892

Regarding the seat height from the cushion to the ground (@JB67), when I manually set the air suspension to its absolute lowest setting, I measured the distance from the ground up to seat, and it was approximately 26 inches.

Someone also asked if you can put the front seat all the way back, even when the second row is folded down (@JB67). I tested this out! I folded the second row flat, then pushed the driver's seat all the way back and reclined it as far as it would go (way further back than I would ever actually position it). It fit just fine without hitting the folded seat.

Now, about the big cargo area dimensions and fitting a 4x8 sheet of plywood (@Penguin, @JB67). While I can tell you from my cardboard hauling adventure that the space back there is HUGE when the seats are down, I didn't actually measure the specific length and width of the flat floor area needed to confirm if a 4x8 sheet would fit perfectly flat. Sorry, I don't have that exact number for you!

Hopefully, these measurements give you a better real-world sense of the space and dimensions! Let me know if anything needs clarification.

An extra, adorable pic of Dobby, just because... :)

Wow! Thank you! I am now going to measure the items we sit on in the house to see what mock up I can do for my wife and I? (Shakes head at self) 🤪

This is a lot of efforts for anyone, let alone someone with dyslexia, to answer all the questions so thoughtfully.
Thank you so much, Annie, for your huge support to the forum.
A big gratitude from all of us.
P.S. How come our own Borski didn't do the AMA?

Any issues with the car unlocking like those noted with the Air? What have you been using as your 'key'?
The key has been just fine (way better than Air)!

Thanks so much for taking the time Annie.
I’d also like to know if the HUD on your car is active and, if so, your impressions of it. It’s strangely something that none of the hands-on reviews have even mentioned.

I would agree with this. My one big complaint about the Air was always its turning radius; I eventually got used to it, and now it's second nature, but it is still a cause of anxiety occasionally when in really tight spots or alleys.

The Gravity does not have that problem, despite being the bigger car. It's pretty nuts.
@borski - I am assuming this is result of the rear wheel steer. Do you know if this is also true without rear steer ? For someone who may not be considering rear steer as an option.

Hi Dobby :) And friend!

P.S. How come our own Borski didn't do the AMA?
‘Cuz it ain’t my car; I don’t drive minivans.

(Jk, it’s because she’s the one who has driven a bunch of SUVs to compare it to, and it actually is her DD. I drive small and fast cars, not big ones, so I would have much less of a useful historical comparison)

Plus, now everyone knows my wife is cooler than me. :)

Correct. I have no idea; I’ve never driven a Gravity without RWS. I *suspect* it is what makes all the difference, but I can’t say that for certain.

Borski, you keep talking about driving small fast cars, what are the odds of you grabbing a Dragy and measuring that 0-60 for us? Should take you all of 4 seconds.

And yes, we all want to know why no one has ever seen the HUD, it was purposefully disabled in NYC where the screen controls would not enable it.

I will take this under consideration. :)

Such a cutie!! Hi, Dobby!! 😘🤗 🥰

A point of curiosity @TribbleTrouble:
Does the back of the middle seat in the 2nd row fold down when the 2nd row is upright?

I ask because when we test drove a BMW iX today, the iX’s 2nd row middle seat folded down independently of the other of the iX’s 2nd row seats and the Gravity’s 2nd row appears to have a similar mechanism (when looking at the back of the seats in videos).

My other EV has rear wheel steering and that makes a huge difference for U turns.
But the down side is one time I made a right turn just as I'd with the Air.
Alas, curb climbed and instant wheel rash.
