Gravity Orders Discussion

Lol we can all breathe a sigh of relief. It looks like a *normal* key fob in the cup holder! 😅
I can confirm it is a “normal” keyfob :p

I wouldn’t bet on Lucid to make basically any mistake twice. But you can absolutely bet they’ll make new mistakes! Just like literally every other car company on the planet :)

I'm just hoping the "squircle" isn't one of them. (Today I rewatched the "Throttle House" test drive of the Gravity prototype from a year ago, and I had forgotten that they thought the "squircle" was closer to the dreaded Tesla yoke than the new Corvette squarish steering wheel.)

And what color is the Gravity that Conner and Schiefer are in? Aurora Green?

Confirmed. Kyle/Out of spec is gonna be the first to review it.

I'm not on "X" so couldn't read the comments on Twork's post. Did it say that Conner will be the first to review the Gravity? I was assuming several journalists will be testing the car pretty much simultaneously.

I think Conner is a good reviewer of range and charging, but there are other reviewers I turn to more for driving and handling dynamics and overall assessments of cars.

It looks green to me.

That's what I'm thinking, but I got there more by eliminating other colors it could be than by seeing the green clearly. It looks a good bit grayer in those photos than the Aurora Green one I saw in Miami a few weeks ago. Could just be the difference in lighting conditions and computer screens, though.

First one I've seen with the platinum trim. Although I like the platinum trim on our Air, Stealth really looks to me to be the way to go on the Gravity -- maybe in part due to its height.

It looks Green with platinum up top but the wheels look stealth...or is it the lighting? Is that even a legit configuration?

I agree the wheels look Stealth. As for being a legit configuration, not according to the order configurator. If you switch between Stealth and Platinum trim, the wheel colors also shift along with the trim switch . . . at least the mid- and large-size wheels. The 20/21's stay dark with either trim selection.

I asked my sales advisor on the 20/21's and those wheels should also shift with the stealth/platinum selection. It appears to be an error in the configurator.

Browsing from my usual home location in the U.S.

Does the browser know this, though? There is a "globe" icon at the top of the Lucid home page that tells you what locale you are browsing and it doesn't have to match your physical location. If I set mine to Canada-English then I see metric measurements and no order button. If I set it to US then I see imperial measurements and can configure an order.

For those of you that don’t care for OoS videos or their length 😉…….
It looks like more than OoS are there! I really hope that Jason Cammisa does his usual thing with the Hagerty videos as those can be quite funny and entertaining.

P.S. I personally enjoy watching some videos over multiple sessions, but to each their own 🤷‍♂️
I have already finished preparing for the video, as I took two days off from school due to the inevitable length of it! 🤣

Looks to me in one of Kyle’s Gravity pics it is the Yoke type steering wheel. Of course more “squircle” like you said. I love that steering wheel look though, as much easier to see the drivers infotainment center and used to that type of steering wheel, since I have a Yoke on my Model S. Love the Yoke by the way. Gravity interior looks awesome! 🙂

I was skeptical that the squircle would really clear the driver's binnacle completely but, when I sat in the Gravity a few weeks back, it really did do the job. That I liked. I wasn't able to turn the squircle, though, as the car wasn't functional, so I really couldn't tell how it might be to drive. I was a little bit surprised at how thin the top of the squircle felt compared to the hefty rim thickness of the Air steering wheel, which I think is just about perfect.

When the skin began to peel off the yoke of our Tesla Model S, we replaced it with a steering wheel as, after a year and a half of trying to adapt, neither of us liked driving with the yoke.

I have to admit that the Gravity review will be the one lengthy "Out of Spec" review I will not fast forward through.

I'm sure it will still be a 2 hour video that could be 30 mins. I do hope Lucid has all its ducks in a row on this because Kyle does tend to nitpick and he brings with him a bunch of Tesla fanboys that could pile on with the negativity on the most minuscule of items.

I was telling my brother it might take a bit of time before the video goes up due to the time it takes to edit what will be a long video. He answered that, "no, it will be so long because they don't spend any time editing." He added that he routinely sets his YouTube feed to double-speed play before opening an "Out of Spec" video.

As I posted earlier, there are some auto reviewers from whom I'm looking more forward to hearing. However, it's not the sometimes tedious detail into which Conner can delve on a car he's reviewing that bothers me. It's the side tours into extraneous topics not germane to the vehicle he's reviewing that wears me out.

In any case, if his is the first independent test drive review of a Gravity that goes live, I will be poring over every second/minute/hour of it . . . probably more than once.

My delivery advisor very kindly sent me indoor and outdoors shots comparing the Gravity Lunar Titanium to the Air Cosmos Silver. As others have noted, the Lunar Titanium is a bit "cooler" and lighter than Cosmos Silver.
