Gravity Orders Discussion

I just downloaded the Firefox browser and tried it instead of the Safari browser I normally use. The configurator is up on Firefox, so the problem seems to be with the Safari browser.

Yep. I had to clear the cache, the history, and the cookies separately before the configurator kicked back in, although clearing the cache was supposed to also clear the cookies.

I have nothing against OOS or Kyle or anyone else. He and I have texted a few times and I sent him some photos; he's a nice guy. Literally nothing against him.

I just don't have the time to watch that much footage lol. A script, or at least a rough outline, might be beneficial for everyone involved.
Indeed. The signal-to-noise ratio can get pretty low at times. Nevertheless, I do find it useful to get a sense of the experience and operating the vehicle, which would not necessarily come out in a more concise and/or scripted review. Kyle freely admits his videos are long and sometimes rambling, so I have to assume that is their brand, but I'm probably missing something with all the fast-forwarding I end up doing ;) I also think they have an "early if not elegant" approach to get content out quickly, so their material is more superficial compared to creators with a more deliberate approach.

Totally agreed. I respect it; just not for me, heh.

I'm still a few years out from looking at a Gravity seriously. Most likely, i'm in the market for the touring. So far, this community seems to be all in on a fully specced GT. For a HUD, Ambient lighting and 3 120v sockets, I think $3200 is quite steep.

What i'd be curious about is the packaging differences between Grand Touring and Touring.. In the Air, that was in the rear passenger foot well. Anyone have thoughts on what the difference might be for a Gravity?
They may also have to adjust pricing and add features to future model years. I also plan to wait and see how it is received. Would be fantastic to buy one used with low miles. The GT saw a 50% price drop in the used market as early as year one.

Yes. I am having a healthy debate over new Touring vs used GT, but my Air lease isn't up for another 10 months. I don't think that timing works out well for either versions...

have they provided delivery dates to those who have a reservation for the Gravity?
No one in this thread has reported getting any additional info thus far. While I think the complete lack of communication is a mistake, especially given the strong correlation between opinion-makers and early adopters, I know from first-hand experience how hard it is to launch a new product at this time of year. Nevertheless. IMHO it would be wise for them to reach out soon to people who have placed an order with some info, even if it is just a "thank you for bearing with us" letter. People's thoughts tend to go negative when you don't hear anything; kind of like someone not returning your text message ;)

My personal expectations: earliest Q1, latest Q2. Not based on any hard data whatsoever 😇

I have not seen any posts in this thread on the potential impact of the new administration's planned tariffs on the auto industry as a whole and Gravity orders in particular. Uncertainty abounds. I re-read my order agreement and, to my non-attorney's eyes, it implies that your price is set when you pay your deposit. While it obviously does not say anything about impacts to delivery dates, placing an early order may be one way to eliminate some uncertainty with new Gravity orders. From the reports I have read, analysts expect potentially severe supply chain disruptions and price increases if the tarrifs go into effect as currently promised. However, it does take a while to implement new tariffs, so when this might happen, if it does actually happen, is still TBD.

Hopefully, Lucid supply chain managers are locking in contracts now.

I just went to the Lucid Motors website and found the Gravity order configurator is gone and all the Gravity data is given in metrics. What's up?

This is now what you see where the "Design Yours" button had been:

Which locale are you browsing? Are orders only currently allowed in the US? The fact that you see metric measurements leads me to believe that you are simply browsing from a country/locale that they don't sell/configure into currently.

Browsing from my usual home location in the U.S.

Review by throttle house and top gear would be much appreciated even if it’s a little later than somebody who compares the car by driving it at 0% battery and talking about clients which has nothing to do about the car and other unimportant things. I do appreciate his knowledge selling attitude but not his statements without supportable evidence.
I might be wrong with my observation but I do wish he gets better with his feature films with better editing and sticking to the review of the car
Hear hear!

Confirmed. Kyle/Out of spec is gonna be the first to review it.

Also, I don’t know if this was mentioned before, but the configurator has been updated with many details on standard features when clicking on the info icon and not selecting the upgrade packages. Before this recent update, it only said (without XYZ package), but now it lists standard features instead.

What is an opinion-maker? And what strong correlation are you referring too?

For those of you that don’t care for OoS videos or their length 😉…….
It looks like more than OoS are there! I really hope that Jason Cammisa does his usual thing with the Hagerty videos as those can be quite funny and entertaining.

P.S. I personally enjoy watching some videos over multiple sessions, but to each their own 🤷‍♂️

Early adopters are very different buyers from early or late majority buyers. They arepassionate about the product, well-informed, seek out information and opinions, and discuss the product across a variety of venues. These people (many of us here, btw) spread their knowledge for free and are often brand ambassadors. I got my first Tesla in 2012 and Tesla was referring people to me to tell them about the car and often even to show it.
