Gravity Launch

. . . was not a fan of the Squircle, but it kinda grew on me as I saw how people were able to handle it.

Same with me. One of the reviewers said Lucid experimented with 17 different steering device configurations, so at least they were paying attention to ergonomics instead of taking the Tesla approach of going with cool factor at the expense of everything else. (Lordy, I hate the yoke in our Tesla. Have I said that before . . . ?)

Yes, I drove that yoke couple weekends ago. Its only function is able to see instrument cluster and cool buzz for media marketing (kind of like CyberTruck). I seriously think that honk button is a safety hazard one day.

Was great to meet some of the forum members last night.

The Gravity looks great in person. A very Lucid design.
Anyone who loves the Air, but frequently wants to transport 6 or 7 people or is unhappy with the trunk opening, this is the vehicle for you.
The front seats are more like the Sapphire, which I find to be a modest improvement over the already very good seats in the DE.
I thought the green looked great. Green with stealth package would be nice.
I am confident the Lucid team will get the suspension dialed in.

I didn’t see any mention of 120V outlet(s).

Seeing the frunk seat in video I thought was a little gimmicky or campy, but it’s not. It is well done. I would use it for sure.

My utility vehicle is a crew cab Sierra. The Gravity is not going to replace that. My friend with 3 school age kids who joined me is looking for what comes after their Honda Odyssey. He was impressed and will be placing an order. I can trade him an Air for the day from time to time.

This is a great add to the line up. While I prefer the Sedan, I know that is a minority position in the market place.

Holy crap, you were there last night and I didn't get a chance to meet you!

It was great meeting you. And I agree with you. About Gravity, and also about sedans.

That was a missed opportunity. We got there early and left for dinner right after we had a chance to get next to the vehicles.

And as far as frunking goes, I’ll say this: Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. It’s surprisingly comfortable in there. And they’re not done thinking about ways of improving it even further before shipping.

Sure, it’s a bit gimmicky to some. That’s sort of the point. It’s going to make for some fun ad campaigns.

And anyone who has been skiing should appreciate having a more comfortable way to change into your boots.

I can think of a scenario where it would be useful for me; having somewhere to sit at when you are on a beach, but you don’t want to sit in the car and get it dirty. I wonder if the frunk is waterproof?

It's washable so yes is my guess and most likely with a drain plug somewhere

Lucid can do an ad to show Gravity is the only vehicle can sit 8 people have their legs outside of cars — 2x in frunk, 2x in trunk & 4x in 90 degrees opening doors.

This is either one very short lady (from the "Electrifying" video channel) or one very tall front seat:

That's actually not the proper height for a headrest. The headrest should support the skull at the top of the neck just below the point of the back of the skull. The position in this photo would force the head to bend forward relative to the neck in a collision.

It certainly gives the term "headroom" new meaning -- i. e., there's room for another head between her and the roof.

Of course, I'm in Florida, so we're used to this:

This is why my wife sits on an air cushion in our Air. Only way to get the headrest in a position where it isn’t pushing her head forward.

Yes. Integrated fixed headrests tend to look more stylish, but they're really not the way to go for safety purposes.

Dumb range. And an affront to the environment.
Yeah, I agreed, but Lucid should still not go lower than 440mi. The Lucid Gravity should still not come with anything less than 120kwh because this is the car intended to beat the model x, and if it gets less range than an X for the price that would not be a good thing considering its financial status/situation. I think they will have 120kwh at least.

I disagree.

Who cares about the status of the company? Compare the CARS to each other. Not the companies.

Unfortunately, the status of the company is a legitimate concern for buyers who worry about service availability and future trade-in value.

If early Gravity sales figures do not send clear signals of robust demand Lucid could go into a tailspin very quickly with its fate entirely dependent on prolonged Saudi PIF support.

Maybe someone has already addressed this. Does anyone know if there will be a 5 and 7 seat version, or only 7?

5, 6, and 7, according to some reports. So the middle captain’s chairs are still supposedly coming.

Rear row will definitely be optional. Leaving them out will gain you some more usable storage space in a sub trunk, where those seats usually get stowed.
