Gravity Delivery Discussion

I altered it during June I believe. Dropped the HUD and went from Grey to Black. I didn’t know how to amend the tracker.
Thanks, yeah, the tracker is complicated. So you're getting your actual build, then.

I'm just disappointed; one of my configs is very similar to yours on exterior color and what I understand to be the constraint items (I also have power pack instead of full Tech/HUD).... though mine is also $10K pricier than your build (7 seats, leather interior, etc), and I ordered on day 1 (3.5 months earlier than you).... yet still I wait. I really have no clue what the rhyme or reason is to the build order at this point.

I'm not saying I'm not happy for you, but this whole experience is discouraging. I try to keep telling myself I'll be happy to be a later stage guinea pig on key fob and other issues, but my patience is wearing thin.

Texted my SA today just to let him know I’m still here. His quote “ production has jumped tremendously since we last spoke”.
We last spoke(texted) a week ago so I think he actually meant when we talked to him on July 17.
He also said he was on the lookout for configurations close to our order. I let him know that we wanted what we ordered.

I find it very hard to believe that the slow production is due supply issues. Haven’t heard other EV makers saying the same. In Lucid’s own words, this year’s delivery is well into the three digits, that’s less than 1000. They probably planned to sell close to 10,000 Gravities, I would think that they should have stocked enough material to produce that many cars. Any way, that’s the official word, but it doesn’t make sense.

Now knowing from personal experience with part supplied to Lucid, but improperly assembled, supply issues aren't just about availability.

Quality clearly matters.
I recall Peter or one other Lucid leader talking about quality of supplier parts. Lucid sought to minimize that impact by bringing some parts in-house. However, they can't do that with every part.

And the impact of tariffs on Lucid's suppliers is definitely an unknown to the general public.

Didn't think about giving my number but I gave them plenty of info on things still going wrong and asked about pin to drive for a backup for the key issues. Hope they take the time to address those surveys seriously.
A pin is a very good idea. If someone borrows my car, I'm likely to give them the fob, and not a card. If they call me up because the fob won't work, I'd like to be able to give them a pin to get them going.

On the other hand, we have several orders of different products that we've heard from the manufacturers or resellers are delayed, due to supply/sourcing/tariff issues, and none of them are even remotely comparable in complexity to an EV - especially a brand-new model like Gravity. So, I don't find it hard to believe that the supply issues are a significant, if not predominant obstruction to full-scale production.

Marc Winteroff was on MSNBC or Fox Business or something and literally said rare earth magnet availability had slowed production, RJ Scaringe of Rivian said something similar. As for other outsourced parts, if Lucid gets a part that has an issue from a supplier, it’s not easy to just go to another supplier they don’t have a contract with and give them their extremely highly customized design and say “hey build this, the other guys messed it up, can we have it next week to meet production targets?”

I’m hoping mine doesn’t deliver until November actually. I’m only in a hurry to get rid of my MX and get a better vehicle, but I don’t NEED to, I can wait a bit more and as I do, like you mentioned, the kinks get worked out more and more.

As part of an Automotive Tier 1 (supplier to Auto OEMs), I am usually at the other end of the stick, with auto OEMs beating us down to increase supply. This means chasing our parts suppliers. Now with Tariffs and also demand from AI computing companies, even some electronic parts are in scarce supply (e.g. memory chips). On top of that China's control over the rare earth mineral sources is also an issue for them... We live these issues daily...

Well guys, just got a VIN! Emailed SA asking for available cars and he found one very similar. Only difference was smaller wheels (I just changed to the larger in hopes of quicker delivery) and then no power package which I would rarely use and no towing package which probably would also never use. He said a September delivery was likely but we shall see!

Not sure, but below are the OR deliveries according to the trackers.

I sent an email to my SA yesterday (who I was reassigned to from my original SA back in June). A couple hours later I got a phone call from my *new* SA. He seemed much more communicative. My previous SA provided no proactive comms and took days to response to any messages. When I did reach him he was a bit difficult to communicate with and wouldn't acknowledge that he didn't have answers/didn't know.

Anyway, my new SA said a batch # has been assigned to my build and I have a "broadcast date" of 8/22. It sounds like that's when I'll switch from Order Confirmed to In Production with a VIN assigned. He estimated about 2 months to delivery after that point. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks!

He also mentioned there's a Black Gravity (didn't get the specifics of the config) that's been sitting for a few weeks because it's homologated for Canada and they can't reassign it to the US even though it matches some existing configs waiting for delivery.

OR orders:
UsernameOrder Date
@DrakeBear11/7/2024
@AHoodPDX12/13/2024
@cheronv12/24/2024
@opdx4/30/2025
@krislucid7/9/2025
@jrb247/15/2025
Looks like my SA was right! Today was my "broadcast date" and I just received an email from him:

Thank you for ordering your Lucid Gravity. We understand you have been waiting patiently for your vehicle, and I want to thank you for your continued trust and enthusiasm.

Let me take this opportunity to keep you informed about the status of your order. Your vehicle is scheduled for an upcoming production slot. The vehicle was added to the production queue on 8/22/2025 and we expect it to be ready for delivery in approximately 8-12 weeks from that date.

Your Lucid Gravity is taking shape, and we are as excited as you about this groundbreaking vehicle. As we approach the final stages of production, we'll keep you updated on the progress and expected delivery timeline.

Next Steps:

  1. Confirm your delivery preferences and review and complete any outstanding paperwork in Lucid portal.
  2. Start planning for your Lucid Gravity's arrival (home charging setup, etc.)
This is an exciting time, and we want to ensure you're fully prepared for the arrival of your Lucid Gravity. Our production ramp-up has faced a few challenges, including supplier constraints, and I want to apologize to you for any inconvenience this may have caused. Most configurations are now in production, and we're working diligently to resolve the few that remain affected by component shortages.

If you have any questions about the production process, delivery, or your Gravity in general, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to make your journey to Lucid Gravity ownership as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Lucid will cover the full $7,500 EV credit when you lease an eligible Lucid Gravity delivered between October 1 and December 31, 2025, even after the federal program ends.1

Thank you for choosing Lucid. We can't wait to see you behind the wheel of your Lucid Gravity!

The portal still shows Order Confirmed but I expect it to change soon. It does list him now as my Sales Specialist, which is new.

Excited!

EDIT: My config is GDE Black/Tahoe/Stealth/20-21

That makes sense, you and I have identical specs and my car went into production Sunday.

So I am not too happy with Lucid. I got called by my SA last Friday 8/15 stating that my car is done production and is preparing for delivery. Delivery will be done by the end of this month. She asked me to look start looking into auto financing and give her the info once I get a pre approval. I got my credit pulled this week and got some pre approvals. Now I reached out and I am being told it's on the wait-list and probably will be shipped after 4 weeks. All the pre-approvals expire in 30 days. I am upset that my credit report got pulled for no reason.
