Gravity Delivery Discussion

I am in Virginia and was told my GDE (Green,22/23,Tahoe) 'factory gated' last week and is scheduled to be transported on the 'next truck' this week to Tysons Corner. Great news but my account portal still shows 'in production' which is a little unnerving. SA says delivery should happen last week of July or first week of August. SA says will send a picture when it arrives. I'm telling myself not to get excited until I see the picture.

It will continue to show in Production until it arrives at the SC.

Anyone know if lucid will offer a credit if the govt EV credit expires before delivery? I'm losing hope that my GDE configuration will make it in before.

I can’t think of any reason they’d do that for the Gravity. At this time, there seems to be enough demand. For the Air, I could see them doing it.

Regardless, I don’t think they’ll say anything about it until closer to 9/30.

However, someone could ask on earnings call in early August. I think there will be a good bit of info on that call. I hope.

Only problem is my key cards didn't work either. They pushed an update that worked for the cards and the fob.

For someone who works in support you of all people should know you don’t go into the ins and outs of everything because a majority of people don’t care or won’t understand.

I work in support also and this response is what any company would do to acknowledge a problem exists and they’re working on fixing it. The process for reporting issues hasn’t changed so they don’t need to elaborate. Email, call Customer Care and your issue will be triaged just like any other company does.

Geez, damned if you do and damned if you don’t in here!
Along the thought of '...should know you don’t go into the ins and outs of everything', the Dear Steve letter mentions:
'These might range from headlight errors to suspension errors to issues with your key fob working reliably.'

Haven't heard of suspension error issues. Was that rhetorical or something else showing up?

I think about it this way: I don't think Lucid will feel any obligation to step in for the government's tax credit. But, we've certainly seen a history with the Air of them massaging pricing to goose demand for the vehicle. Probably this year they don't need to do that, but I assume that they'll work to make pricing more attractive to people as their production ramps up in the future. That does probably mean that people taking delivery later this year will be paying peak prices. Well, unless the various metal tariffs from the Trump administration push raw material prices even higher.

People taking delivery now are paying peak prices, too. I don’t believe Lucid can increase price of Gravity any higher than it is.

However, yes, I do expect in 12 months or so they’ll have better leasing terms, etc. Also depends on when they actually begin to take orders and show specs for lower price Gravity. At this point, hard to see them delivering those in 2025, but we shall see…

Is the battery pack Panasonic from Japan or LG or Samsung from Korea? Now subjected to 25% Tarriffs regardless 👎👎👎.

Currently Japan, in the future Kansas.
"Panasonic Energy's 2170 battery cells, key to both models, are produced in Japan, with expected future production at Panasonic's new production facility in Kansas."
Panasonic already produces 2170 cells in the US for Tesla.
Looks like the Kansas plant opened today!

When did your car go into production?

I took delivery in Chicago today. The service center said it was the 5th one released in the state of Illinois, which gave me this VIP like warm fuzzy feeling. I found the delivery specialists very friendly and accommodating; it was clear that they really wanted me to be happy.

Leaving the lot was the first time I drove the Gravity. At first, it felt similar to the Model X Performance that I'm breaking up with. That's actually a good thing since I really liked driving that car. But I really started seeing the difference when I started making turns on the busy streets and got onto a highway with curves. The handling is extremely responsive and gave mini cooper in the "Italian Job" vibes. That must be due to the shorter radius turning. On the open road, it was extremely quiet. The difference reminded me of when you turn on "noise canceling" on your headphones.

I blew the breaker on my wall charger in my building. It looks like I'll have to follow the directions on another post to get that fixed.

I'm excited about really testing the car in the coming weeks.

Pretty great looking in black. Makes me think.

Lucid can increase the price if they want. Did you hear in 2022 Rivian increased prices 20%? They first came on the scene at 75k, Munro Live did a tear down and said this vehicle was worth six figures at least with the build quality and engineering. They just increased another 1-2k for their 2026 lineup. I am sure the way Lucid engineers their vehicles and the materials they use they can increase if they want.

A GGT correct? No HUD? If so, can you show us what the ambient lighting looks like since without the HUD, there are less lights.
