Gravity Delivery Discussion

I am sure the way Lucid engineers their vehicles and the materials they use they can increase if they want.
I think they will increase prices a little, at least temporarily, and blame it on tariffs. Lucid has had a banner on their site mentioning a price freeze until July 14th (yesterday, apparently). I think that’s an acknowledgment that they are worried enough about tariffs and wanted to put a time window on the price increases (which seems kinder than Tesla’s sudden price swings in the past).

Lucid can increase the price if they want. Did you hear in 2022 Rivian increased prices 20%? They first came on the scene at 75k, Munro Live did a tear down and said this vehicle was worth six figures at least with the build quality and engineering. They just increased another 1-2k for their 2026 lineup. I am sure the way Lucid engineers their vehicles and the materials they use they can increase if they want.
Can’t increase price without demand. They were giving away Airs by June. So it’s safe to say they can’t raise prices there. For Gravity, I do t believe they have enough demand for the GGT to raise prices. There’s only so much depth at $100,000 for an EV at this point. And you can’t piss off the folks who already ordered - that went poorly for Rivian.

Gravity, loaded, is only a bit less than a new Quad R1S. I got my R1S quad at original pricing of about $85,000 out the door. I can honestly say I’d never pay six figures for a Rivian now.

If anything, when they can actually ramp (which now sounds like back of this year given CEO interview yesterday), they may have downward price pressure as they already have more orphaned Gravity than I would have guessed.

Regardless, I want my Gravity yesterday! Can’t wait.

. . . they already have more orphaned Gravity than I would have guessed.

I wish someone would orphan a Black/Yosemite Dream Edition. We still don't have a VIN for the one I ordered the day orders opened (and five weeks before the green Gravity
DE we received at the end of June).

My SA says he has no information about where the order stands. However, the SA we dealt with at the June 30 delivery of the green car looked up our other order. He said it was showing a code that they don't normally disclose but that indicated our order was already matched to a batch that was in production and was pending assignment of a VIN. But that was over two weeks ago.

Looks like (don't want to get my hopes too high, but I am a little giddy😂) the website is showing my Gravity GT will be delivered Friday to my home address! There was some issue for transport as first they were going to ship it from Houston to Roswell GA, but then they didn't want to pay for one off transportation and they were asking if I come get it (from north Alabama) and I was actually prepping for that when they said they'll ship it straight to me at home. Which is the best option as I can head to my PPF guy straight from there and not have a 700 mile trip of road bugs and crud on top of it (not entirely still out of the question if they don't ship it covered transport, I don't know yet how that's going).

This was an orphaned Gravity, so there seems to be a few of them out there if you are willing to compromise a bit. I just hope they paired them keys and cards up right!

FWIW, our Air and our Gravity were both delivered to our home in an enclosed trailer. Back when Air deliveries first started, based on photos people posted here at the time, everyone who got home delivery seemed to be getting their cars the same way.

Maybe it's just Lucid policy once the protective wrapping is taken off the cars at the service shop that preps the car for final delivery? (Lucid used open transports for subsequent trips to and from a service center for warranty work.)

Also, just saw Lucid released that hands free driving coming to Air Dream Drive Pro on July 30 and Gravity later this year

I took delivery in Chicago today. The service center said it was the 5th one released in the state of Illinois, which gave me this VIP like warm fuzzy feeling. I found the delivery specialists very friendly and accommodating; it was clear that they really wanted me to be happy.

Leaving the lot was the first time I drove the Gravity. At first, it felt similar to the Model X Performance that I'm breaking up with. That's actually a good thing since I really liked driving that car. But I really started seeing the difference when I started making turns on the busy streets and got onto a highway with curves. The handling is extremely responsive and gave mini cooper in the "Italian Job" vibes. That must be due to the shorter radius turning. On the open road, it was extremely quiet. The difference reminded me of when you turn on "noise canceling" on your headphones.

I blew the breaker on my wall charger in my building. It looks like I'll have to follow the directions on another post to get that fixed.

I'm excited about really testing the car in the coming weeks.View attachment 30650View attachment 30651

Congratulations. Looks great. Thank you for the front pic showing a license plate on the front of a gravity. It looks like sitting in the frunk will be ok. Meaning license plate frame will protect legs. My order is in for the white GGT no hud.

Currently Japan, in the future Kansas.
"Panasonic Energy's 2170 battery cells, key to both models, are produced in Japan, with expected future production at Panasonic's new production facility in Kansas."
Panasonic already produces 2170 cells in the US for Tesla.
Looks like the Kansas plant opened today!
Saw a YouTube video in which Lucid CEO said gravity batteries are produced in the US by Panasonic. The video was fairly recent.
From Nick Twork. Lucid Live on Bloomberg TV, interview with Lucid CEO Marc Winterhoff and Edlulow Panasonic Battery factory...stay tunned!

@chrisppanda when you get a chance, if you can post of picture of two people sitting in the frunk, that would be nice.

Two adults (particularly “regular sized” men) don’t fit incredibly well. An adult and a child are the ideal fit. This was my experience with several folks trying it out at the Studio with the cushion. YMMV

I'm not concerned about two adults fitting in the frunk. I've seen several pictures of two adults fitting reasonably well.
My concern is with how the legs hang over a license plate frame.
That's why post is shown as a reply to the post from @9.81ms2 about the license plate frame protecting the legs while sitting in the frunk.
@9.81ms2 is probably right, but a picture from an owner with a license plate frame would help.

Anyone know when we'll actually be able to buy the cushion? Still says coming soon...and the shades for that matter too

I'm hoping to avoid having the license plate frame installed.
However, if necessary, I may try what another forum member did; use 3M tape.

I just asked for an update from that member.

And the request for a picture with two adults is because one adult can more easily avoid the frame than two adults.

in this pic, the bottom flap of the frunk seat isn't folded down

I'm hoping this means black/platinum is coming back around on the build list, and maybe I'll be lucky enough to be assigned a vehicle finally. I wonder if anyone else has heard rumors about what batches are in the pipeline....
