Gravity Delivery Discussion

How long does it typically go from ‘preparing for delivery’ to actually getting the Gravity delivered
Probably all comes down to the backlog at the service center it’s being delivered to but I would assume 1 to 2 weeks. That’s if “preparing for delivery” status means it’s at the Service Center already and not on a truck still.

It appears that deliveries are happening within 5 days of the cars arriving at SC. Was this the case for most that have already taken delivery to date? Mine arrived last night, and I'm scheduled to take delivery Saturday.

I would assume that means the car has arrived at the service center. For context, my SA told me that my car left the factory yesterday and is en route, and my dashboard still shows "In Production".
My car just arrived at the service center a little while back and my dashboard just changed to preparing for delivery. So can confirm that preparing for delivery means at service center.

Yes, depending on the service center. Mine arrived today and I am tentatively scheduled for taking delivery on Friday.

Hmmm. I was told by my SA that( trade in work) will happen closer to delivery. My car had a VIN late last month and is in production.
I was given a trade in but they were very clear that it is only good for 30 days and 1,000 miles. I hope mine is delivered in time to meet that caveat and I did mention that when they gave me the info.

Picked up DE #013. :) It is now dropped off for PPF so we can leave for Kenya tomorrow and arrive back in mid-July for a fully protected car. :) A few spots to paint correct, but nothing major. A few minor trim / panel gap imperfections which service will fix (and we noted on the due bill), but overall 100x better than my Air DE when I picked it up.

And wow, the software has come a long way. Terrible pics attached (this past week has been insane, and I have been running minute-to-minute, so these were snapped as @TribbleTrouble drove to the PPF shop, heh). Ignore the buttons that have no text; they do, it was just a quirk that a reboot fixed and never came back.

Also, release notes for v3.2.0 :) https://publications.infotainment.p...32-bc6c-9aa4b5485a72/content_en-US/index.html

Oh, and we tested supercharging. Worked flawlessly, and instantly. Plugged in, charged, moved on. Couldn't test speed cuz we were at like 92% lol, but I can't imagine it would have been slow. DDP2 worked great; automatic lane biasing was neat. HUD works; it's not perfect yet, and in the sun there is some glare, but it's still early days for the HUD. It does work, though - just takes a little getting used to because it's huge.

Congrats!

I picked up today as well and had the same minor issues (gap imperfections) and few spots to paint correct. Planning to drop the car off for PPF + Ceramic Coating tomorrow

Is it better to get service to fix paint spots before sending it for PPF?

If you bring to OCD, part of the package includes paint correction. Unless it's missing paint.

Mine is a super minor rock chip so not sure how they'd do it. Also I got an appointment at Deep Reflections, OCD did not pick up the phone, tried 3 times and heard they schedule 3-4 weeks out

Maybe have service center fix the rock chip first, since it was prior to delivery. I hope you noted that. Then do your PPF.

I think your original review/comments on deciding between Air and Gravity, got me interested in the Gravity, and eventually ordered one. Also about the Valley Fair demo unit, and the Milbrae unit. Dang. OK Borski. I'm a Lucid owner because of you. :)

Congrats. Now forget about cars for a couple weeks and go enjoy Kenya. I have traveled extensively around the planet and our trip to Kenya (as well as Botswana and Zimbabwe) a couple years ago was by far the highlight of all my travels. The wife has been pressing to go back.
