Gravity Delivery Discussion

Mine is a midsized DE and supposedly scheduled to come off the line on Thursday. Maybe?

So how long since getting the VIN?

Now that I know the cars are coming off the line in good numbers for the Saudi shipments, I'm really starting to chomp at the bit for my orders to get underway . . . although they seem dead in the water for some reason I cannot figure out. (I think one of our Dream orders is the same configuration as yours: Green / Tahoe / mid-size wheels / 7-seat?)

I don't exactly know when I 'got the VIN', as evidently it had been there for a while and I simply didn't know.

And yup, same config.

I'm also wondering whether the rear motor will boost voltage like the U.S. version, as one of the reasons given for moving the U.S. charge port to the rear was to shorten the cabling run to the step-up transformer.
Front CCS charge port vehicles do not get voltage boost. That was covered in the 2 hour long saga of a video with the motor team that was shared a few weeks ago.

Not gonna lie, that sillplate number is fugly compared to how they did it on the Air

Well, you gotta give up something to get that thick, gold-tinted bear badge on the fender.

BTW, I just called my delivery advisor. He's going to inquire about a delete option for the badge.

I wish they were backlit like on my Audi.
It might be? Looking at the picture, there's a faint bear on the far left side. Can't figure out what else it could be.

I kinda like the chonky numbers. They're visible. They should've let people bid on the numbers they wanted, though...

Without the need for use of 400V DCFCs the current will be half with the more upto date DCFCs. With half the current one quartwr the heat will be generated.
Does anyone know - are Tesla's the only 400v public DCFC currently used in NA? What about in Europe or Japan, are they all higher voltage?

I remember reading something very similar 30+ pages ago 😬

What if it’s none of that, and the delay in the US is caused by the only thing that’s different from non-US models; NACS? They can’t deliver a car to customers if L3 charging doesn’t reliably work, and they have more experience with CCS, so the Saudi model is ready to go.
I’m starting to think this might be the reason for pushing the Saudi market and opening orders for the Touring there.

Interestingly -- I don't see Dream Bears on these. Do those get applied at the studio?

Here are photos of the staging lot where there are too many Gravity to count. Most appear destined for KSA as Adrain Price posted on X yesterday but mixed in are Gravity for NA. Probably 80%-90% for KSA. Full resolution photos below in case you want to look for yourself.

Looks like nearly 100 Gravitys to me. Nice to see they're cranking them out.

Now I am less skeptical of Lucid's projected 2025 production of ~20,000 vehicles.

I'm rather glad to see this from a purely selfish perspective. It means the production line is gaining experience and probably ferreting out minor glitches before Dream Editions start rolling off the line in bigger numbers -- something that avoids Dreams being the very first cars produced, which is something that worried me.

As I posted earlier, there were several changes/improvements between the Air Dream No. 154 we first received and the Air Dream No. 395 we bought after the first one was wrecked.
