Gravity Delivery Discussion

Unfortunately the highway performance of the last couple of months on my Tesla (actually I sold it about a month ago, so during the period of 1-3 months ago), was absolutely not "don't have to pay attention". It was deeply concerning about 3 months ago and at best it got to the level of "constantly being ready for a mistake" by the time I sold it in late March. But, the performance it had in early December before the "FSD everywhere" update was absolutely trust-worthy.
Totally my experience with my Model X. I trust it not. It's a noisy car on the inside. Can't hear people speaking in the seats right behind me. Ride quality is actually pretty rough and the fit of the panels is not good at all. Any time I take it through a car wash I have parts of the car wash stuck in the panel gaps. I had it clear wrapped so no issues with car washes.

Your change request for Order GD50987-969xx on 4/18/2025 7:18 PM has been completed. To view your updated design, please log into your Lucid portal or review the attached Order Agreement.
Once your vehicle has entered production, your Sales Specialist will be in touch with you to discuss next steps and delivery timelines.

As always, thank you for being with us on this journey.

I just got an email from lucid with basically the above text. I logged into my account, and unless I am completely missing something,, I cant seem to find anything "updated'. I certainly did NOT update my design or make ANY modifications. Just curious if any of you others have recd anything similar? I did find an "upload proof of insurance" tab- which I just did- I am not positive if this was already there before? Or is this something new in my dashboard?

I got one of those, but I *did* make a change to my order. Does it have an Order Agreement Configuration Summary attached? Can you compare it to your original one?

The "proof of insurance" upload was there when I placed my order; I don't think it's new (or particularly actionable right now).

BTW, is there a magic decoder ring for order numbers?

The order ID is the same and so is all the info on the attached PDF. I haven't even logged into my account recently so I was surprised when I got that email. I did forward it on to my sales consultant to see if he had any insight into this- which I doubt. Let's see what comes up next- when I got the email I was half expecting a VIN assignment LOL.

Also, more an annoyance than a question -- the bottom of the right website dashboard column has this link:

This goes to https://afdc.energy.gov/laws/search

I can not come up with any charitable interpretation where that site helps me "understand local incentives and rebates" in any way. It is a search results page with 3,288 entries, most of them irrelevant, and all of the ones on the first page marked as "Expired".

It would be helpful if this link went... anywhere useful, or was just removed entirely. It's at best unhelpful and extremely confusing.

I got the same email.

The order change referred to here that I requested on 4/7 was confirmed as processed on 4/8, so I have no idea why I got this today.

The language that really raises a question, though, is the second paragraph. With our Air, I got a phone call from the delivery advisor to do a final verbal confirmation of the details of the order before the car went into production. This message seems to imply there will be no such call before the car actually enters production.

Are the emails we all got today meant to be the final order confirmation before our cars go into production?

As I have two Gravity Dreams on order and did not get a similar email regarding the later order (to which I had also made a change a while back), I'm thinking this might actually be the final order confirmation for the first Gravity to be delivered.

I just called my sales specialist. He said the plan is still for the specialists to make contact for verbal final order confirmations, so this email was not that final confirmation before production. He has no idea why the emails went out, especially for order changes that had already been confirmed earlier.

I would not say they are doing great. The Air is currently the only car they sell and they are giving them away with the lease deals they keep having. The companies are listed sell way more cars when you combine all they sell and its not even close.

They have a long ways to go until I consider them to be doing great. They still need to sell more Airs on a monthly basis and then get the Gravity out quickly and deliver as many as possible. Then get to the smaller SUV.

Love Lucid, so hopefully somehow that happens.
It's unrealistic to expect them to make more than incremental improvements in the Air sales volume. That's fundamentally a low volume niche of the market, and they've already taken a pretty healthy share of the available demand. Substantial volume expansion is probably only possible by selling in markets where they don't yet have a real presence. Interestingly, Rawlinson made clear in interviews that the only reason they started with a sedan is because a key source of investment insisted on a sedan as their first vehicle in return for putting the money in. From what he said, they probably would have done the Gravity first if it had been entirely up to him. Although for people buying a Gravity, we do definitely benefit from the experience Lucid built up with the Air.

While I do think the Gravity is impressive, and will sell better than the Air, it is also still a small niche market at its price level. We won't see Lucid become a successful car company until their mid-market vehicles are out.

I got the same email.

Got the same email just now as well. Not really sure what's going on with that but at least I'm not the only one. Maybe they are reviewing our orders because they are about to start prodcution?

I got the email as well. Came on here to see what everyone else was getting. I have no idea why I got it. It references my DE order, and I left my GGT order open when I placed my DE order, so I wondered if this was finally “collapsing” the two orders into one, but I still see both in my online profile, so I’m 🤷🏻‍♂️. I have neither made nor requested changes to either order ever.

The DE configurator now allows the choice between 5 or 7-seater configurations. Adding this option may have triggered a release of these emails?

I also got the same email (after having made a modification this morning) so I have two a few hours apart to compare.

The primary difference is that one has a footer "US_Order Terms and Conditions_20250319" and the other has the footer "US_Order Terms and Conditoons_20250417" and they are wrapped differently, so I am going to try and diff them now to see what changed.

The other change is that the "Seating Options" and "Packages" line items are... randomly sorted in a different order?

As per my SA, possibly the batch has been assigned and we might be getting the VINs soon. Interestingly my order has been changed in 04/19 @12:12 and today is 04:18. 😜.
I hope what he said is correct.

tl;dr: The T&Cs have been altered which has updated everyone's contract pre-production. (Pray they do not alter it further.) They have to send this to you because it's a contract.

OK, the only change is on page 4, second column:
Opt-Out: You have the option to opt-out of this Arbitration Agreement within 30 days from the date of placing your Order.
has changed to:
Opt-Out: You have the option to opt-out of this Arbitration Agreement within 30 days from the date you sign this Agreement.

So, lawyers, man. The new text is actually somewhat more confusing as I'm not sure what qualifies as "signing this Agreement". But now that they've put a spotlight on this.... yeah, I probably want to opt out of Arbitration! That rarely ends up being good for the consumer. I'll read it a bit more, but thanks for highlighting this, Lucid lawyers!

I just got the second email for our second Gravity order.

Are these emails only going out for Dream orders?

This option appeared briefly on the Dream configurator a while back but then disappeared. I wonder if it sticks this time?

How are you able to make changes to your standing Gravity order? I see no method to make changes. I would like to add something to the order but am unsure how to do so before it enters production.

Call or text your SA. (Or whatever number you got; your local studio or HQ sales.)

Decided I'd bump up from the entry wheels to the mid-size based on the noise and wet traction data for the Michelins. (The big wheels and summer tires wouldn't last a day where I live.)

The quickest way is to contact the sales representative who was matched to you upon submission of the original order. Until recently even the sales reps were unable to change an order and had to call HQ, but now they can access the order system themselves and put in the change. It'll still take a day or two before the change shows up in your Lucid account profile, though.
