Gravity Bugs / Issues

  1. Keyless Entry/Fob Issues
  2. Media apps disappearing (loading the generic profile and then switching back to my personal profile will bring the apps back but only temporarily)
  3. Media not loading says server busy try again later
  4. Phone contacts and call history regularly not loading/synching
  5. Sometimes will not go into reverse, when it finally does the cameras stop functioning
  6. Headlight warning says to schedule service although I've had no issues driving at night, the headlights appear to work fine
  7. Occasional warning that rear-wheel steering is inoperable
  8. Time is off with the automatic update enabled
  9. Blind spot camera is enabled but drops working mid-drive making it unreliable
  10. Sometimes the sideview mirrors do not open, which you don't normally realize until you're already driving and need them. Have to stop, exit vehicle, lock and then unlock to get them to open.
  11. No Apple Car Play (one of the reasons I went with a Lucid and not another Rivian)

Other than this, the car is perfect.

It would be very helpful if you could update the list above for those items Lucid has fixed. Thx

Drive system error popped up this AM, and i was unable to change gear. Tried soft resetting several times, walking away for a few, etc etc without luck. Now getting it towed to the SC for this and other issues. Currently at a little over 1000 miles.

Other issues, some of which are software-related;
Missing homelink
Driver side window keeps engaging anti-pinch when closing
Inside Trunk plastic trim keeps comes loose when moving rear seat from enclosed position.
2nd row doesn't fold all the way, leaving one side elevated
2nd row doesn't react/fold to button input from trunk
Steering button to disengage autopilot doesn't work. Have to apply brake to disengage.
Steering buttons occassioanlly doesn't work when pushing for music controls
Frunk doesn't open at first push, and appears to want to lift on one side of hood before other side starts to open. 2nd attempt to open frunk works.
Phone as key doesn't work
Error message that rear steering isn't working, and i should contact service center immediately
Trunk trim- brake light on driver side is loose and rattles.
Wireless charger turns off periodically and throws error message every few mins.
Backup cameras occassionally dont show images, just blank screens. Always happens at the most inconvenient time. Haha
Error message at every startup - headlight not working
Left side view mirror doesn't tilt when reversing.

It would be very helpful if you could update the above list noting which items Lucid has fixed. Thx

I'm awaiting delivery of a Gravity GT. I just came to this thread but see it's 20 pages long. Can someone summarize the problems other than the key/card key/issue?

I've had an Air GT for 7 months and the main problems for me are software related plus the left end nut on the sway bar which has now been fixed twice.
From @hydbob earlier in this thread, I’ve added to it (don’t have my GDE yet just summarizing other owners):
1) Key fob and key card issues, access and/or inability to put car into gear - Confirmed by Lucid with a fix coming soon, customer service pushing 3.2.1 to car again seems to fix it? Very common issue
2) Keep/Pet mode - confirmed by Lucid as not working currently
3) Erroneous error reporting when first starting the vehicle - Confirmed by Lucid with a fix coming soon, rare issue?
4) Camera error - no cameras available, fixed by performing a vehicle reset (brake + X + Mic), rare issue?
5) Loss of sound/connection for 3rd party apps, fixed by a profile switch, rare issue?
6) GPS not recognizing location of vehicle, thus far maybe only one owner?
7) HUD oval artifact, worse for some owners than others and possibly improved by seating height or HUD brightness but very common issue
8) Tow hitch install difficulties, tow hitch software not active yet anyway so don’t use
9) 2nd row seat rattles if not flush with eachother
10) 2nd row seat not returning to position? Maybe reset or lying second row flat and then sitting up again would fix? One owner report so far
11) wireless charging errors, somewhat common
12) suspension system errors (2-3 owners reported, 2 resolved with reboot or sleep, 1 requiring service)
13) no power delivered to some 110v outlets?

Others which may be unique include:

Frunk not operating properly (no surprise there)
Small frunk trim piece dislodged on two vehicles
Misaligned top spoiler on trunk (likely design choice since it’s the same on all vehicles)
3rd row mechanism not aligned properly
2nd row not folding flat

I’m hoping we can help Lucid address these as quickly as possible by making this a repository for reports and resolutions. I don’t see Marqie listed as being able to tag anymore so do mods know of any other Lucid rep on here we could tag?

If you updated to 3.2.1, what bugs / issues have you noticed still need to be addresses by Lucid? Thanks!
Little things. Sometimes the driver seat doesn't move up and adjust to driver profile on start. One time, the passenger seat massage wouldn't turn on, and on occasion I can't change profiles and get an error saying the car needs to be in park but it already is in park.

I have no experience with HUDs in a vehicle. Does it not auto adjust brightness based on the ambient light levels?
It does not appear to be an option at this time

Oh these issues 3.2.1 fixes #5, the 3rd party apps disappearing. I do not believe it fixes any of the others.

She’s unlikely to want to put a nfc card in her wallet? That’s all the backup you would need. Honestly? I don’t even do that anymore with my air, and am in Arkansas with only the mobile key and is working great.
Quick clarification as I wait for my GGT Black......you don't carry any fob or card? Just use the app? I'd love to do that if its trustworthy and works all the time.

Still need a fob or card to drive currently

Sad that I’ll take a slower charging speed for pure reliability of the network than attempt even going to EA. I’ve literally filtered all the chargers out of the navigation except for Tesla.
That's unfortunate. I've got an X and use only Superchargers, but they're almost always 150Kwh or 225 and on the 2018 X, painfully slow. 20-40 minutes usually as it drops to 50Kwh in a matter of minutes. There just aren't enough of the new V3 or V4 superchargers yet. But in a year or so, I hope they're all changed out.

Yes, for my Air only the app. No card or Key. Idk re: Gravity yet.

It is quite confusing. Hard to tell the difference between a V2 and V3 just looking at it (the stand is exactly the same, just the cables and handles slightly different). And not all V3's are activated for CCS protocol (although roughly 90% are), even tho they're technically capable, which adds to further confusion.

V2 is definitely not CCS compatible, so none of those will work for anything but Teslas.

Bottom line: we can't assume all Tesla stations will work for our non-Teslas. Need to confirm it via the variety of tools available. I don't have my Gravity yet, but I assume the car nav shows only stations that work. Google maps only goes as far as saying 150 or 250, so while you can rule out the 150s, you can't be sure even if it says 250 (although it's likely). The best tool is the Tesla webpage I linked above. Go into the filters and play with them a little (I set them for non-Tesla access in that link). If you turn the "Tesla" filter on to also see the stations that WON'T work for us, you'll see the 3rd type of station icon on that looks a bit different (like the pic below).

I own an X and have a GGT black on order. All the times I supercharge, I've never understood why Tesla doesn't slap a damned sticker on each charger stating "150Kwh, 250Kwh, 350Kwh", etc.....why is that so damned hard? Or a sticker that says "V2, V3, V4"? I want to know as a current Tesla owner and for us Lucid purchasers, it becomes even more important and to all the other manufacturers porting over to NACS. Not rocket science......stickers for gods sakes.

Would be very useful if there was an updated consensus 'delivery day checklist' of things to ask about and verify that included some of the bugs/trim/alignment noted on early deliveries. Would be helpful also as a way to organize the pain points so Lucid can direct their attention appropriately as they work through early issues
would love that, to print out.......I had that available on a blog when I purchased my MX in 2020

I agree.
My advice.
1- Turn off audible speed limit alarms. (I didn’t and it drove me crazy until I figured it out… there are also attentive and drowsy driver alarms that bing if you look away from the road. Once I figured this out, I turned them off and appreciate the lack of bings and left screen pop ups)
2- Check the covering of the hinges in your right second row seat. (Mine is missing)
3- Height adjustment for the rear clamshell. Push it manually to where you want it height wise- hold the open / close button for 5 seconds to set the height (mine was way too low then read owners manual available in the vehicle)
4- make sure your delivery person pairs both the cards and the key fob.
5- you’ll be excited- don’t skip the test drive after the set up and prior to departure. I almost did, and glad I didn’t.
6- be patient. They haven’t delivered a lot of these. They are well trained, but you may know as much or more about the gravity than they do. Everyone is super nice though.
7- Take a breath and document anything you see. It will take two hours and the delivery guy will make punch list of stuff at the end, but with all the excitement and how cool the car is, it’s easy to lose track as it’s cool to try everything.
8- you’ll have a mobile charging cable and two adapters included. So no need to pre-buy one if you have a 240 plug at home.
Brilliant. I pasted this into a Word doc and will add as we all go along. Maybe someone will do a compilation and post it eventually.

Yes, I tried a steering wheel reset and also letting it sleep for a while, but this error still persists, unfortunately.
Steering wheel reset will not fix any false alarms from a warning light perspective. My service advisor recommended locking the car and waiting until the little orange airbag light on windscreen console (next to the hazard light ) turns off. That's when the car has fully slept. It will not sleep while charging or if anyone is in the car.

Until I know how accurate the Lucid navigation system is in filtering out all the non-NACS Supercharger locations, I plan to use the Tesla website Supercharger locator which can be filtered to show only the "NACS-Partner" stations. (On some routes, especially in low-population areas, more than half the Supercharger locations drop off the map when that filter is activated.)

Thanks Bunny. This is very helpful.

I wish there was a way to sticky this somewhere. Otherwise it will get lost again, and I'll just keep asking the same questions.

A visual guide to Tesla Superchargers. First the ones categorically not useable by Lucids:

V1 & V2: Labels at base of charger post are a cabinet number and letter A or B. A and B posts share the power (120-150kW) from the cabinet, so it's advisable Tesla drivers to choose an unused cabinet number if possible (many Tesla drivers don't know this). Most often the A & B posts are next to each other, but some group the As together then the Bs.
Urban Superchargers: these have a different post design: smaller boxes, no hole in the post, cable is on outside of post rather than inside. 72kW max speed, no sharing of power.

Superchargers that can be used by Lucids, with some exceptions:

V3: Post design looks same as V2, but has thinner cable. Labels at bottom of post have same number+letter, but the letters are four per cabinet A,B,C,D. Power is 250kW per post, no sharing. Gravity can charge at 225kW. Air at 50kW limited by Wonderbox hardware.

V3 + MagicDock: these rare stations are fully-compliant CCS1 capable chargers that have a built-in adapter. Any EV can charge here using the Tesla app. Same charging rates as V3

V4 Post, V3 cabinets: post design is larger, taller, with a longer cable making it more friendly to cars with charge ports not in the Tesla position. Currently has same 500V charging voltage being powered by V3 cabinets.

V4: when they update the charging cabinets to V4, these dully armed and operational charging stations will supply up to 1000V. These will allow Air to charge at up to 350kW and Gravity to reach 400kW speeds.

I also had more time with the car in the last 48 hrs. Admittedly I didn't do any looking around when I picked up the car. They literally hooked up my phone and I left.

This I assume is this misalignment in the rear spoiler.

There are other small trim misalignments too. Honestly no big deal. The black wheel arch trim in the driver side rear sags slightly relative to the black trim piece on the driver side rear door. You can push it up by hand to match it but it doesn't stay.

The trim on the rear windows, just above the body panel, seemingly steps up relative to the same piece from the front door all the way back. This is the same on both sides of the car even though the door to body panel alignment seems fine. Not sure if this is intentional or not.

There is a gap here between the seal and the metal panel, not sure if this will be an issue for water. Will ask mobile about it when they address the frunk alignment issue

1000005286.webp

There is a scuff mark, difficult to see here on the black panel between the gaps. If the image top is north, look at the X and think North East.

Finally our driver side passenger door requires and higher than avg amount of force to close. Likely another alignment issue.

Honestly none of these a huge issues. I'm being picky here. It doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the car. I really look forward to driving it every time.
