I agree, I think creep is quite dangerous and can understand why it defaults to hold but to each their own. I had it on once and didn't realize that it actually creeps in reveres as well, took my foot off the brake and it nearly reversed into a wall, never used creep since. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't get why it became a "thing" in EV's

Agree. It's the inconsistency that drives me up the wall. Would rather it just work or not work! Surprisingly, lock/unlock works 100% of the time at home and it only decides to act up when away from home. You know, when you actually need it to work 100% to stop people from possibly getting into your car.

I use it the same as an automatic transmission and prefer it, especially for parking. Creep in the Lucid is way worse than any other car though, its not smooth at all, if it works at all. They should just get rid of it. Tesla and BMW did it right.

You need to get updated to 3.4.4 first and then the update to 3.5.1 will happen. Updates have to be done in order and you can't skip an update. @marqie should be able to help you out.
 
I am a big fan of the creep mode and drives me up the wall that there is a setting for what you want the default to be and it doesn’t care for what I want!!

I tried hold for a bit and I find it jerky in use, creep is super smooth for me forward or back.

First thing I click when I enter the vehicle, really annoying.
 
Creep works well for me and I love it for parking and tight spaces. Wish they ported Air's Tap-to-Creep or allow changing Hold/Creep while driving... for now I use creep to get out of the garage and drive way and then park->back to Hold for driving and stoplights.

I actually got it to lock by pressing the popped out handle one time. Probablem is I have no idea what conditions of sequence of events needed to happen. I had just opened the car to get something out of it with my phone app.
 
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing an increase in occurrences where the rearview camera display doesn't appear when putting the Gravity in reverse. I just had my second occurrence in less than a week. A soft reset resolves the issue, but this is a dangerous software bug that I only have seen since 3.5.1 rolled out.

I hope they change this in future software upgrades. My polestar kept whatever setting I asked it to do.

Yeah, I've learned I can do that, but it's finicky. Sometimes, I press the handle and the car locks correctly. Other times, I notice the handle motor fights me and keeps forcing the handle out. Other times, the car locks and immediately unlocks.

It's just mind boggling to me this car so many problems with locking and unlocking. This is a solved problem for decades.

I've found that the handle is reliable for push-unlock but quite a sensitive little booger when I press-to-lock. Not hard enough = no response. Doink on it too hard = (sometimes) it locks but the handle remains partially protruding. Agree that it is just stupid that this can't be more consistent & intuitive for such a important point of tactile interaction with the car.
 
Yeah, to unlock the car, it's very straightforward. Push it, it always pops out with no drama.

The lock part is so stupid that, during my delivery, they said you can't lock the car by pushing the handle in.

I've noticed it since 3.5.1 rolled out, it works randomly and makes no sense as to when it works and when it doesn't work.

If you're talking about version 3.5.1, it's interesting that it's stopped at "68 of 85 vehicles updated, 80.0%" (according to your lucidtracker.com site.)

Purely speculating, but they could be doing a "holdback" experiment where they leave some vehicles on an older version to provide a baseline for telemetry or stats they want t collect across the fleet.

The only way it's dangerous is if you're not used to it. Every automatic car for decades would start moving as soon as you started letting up on the brake, in drive or reverse, so it's hardly an unusual action for most people.

Good, it’s not just me then. Hopefully it doesn’t take NHTSA complaints to get these issues taken care of. I think the NHTSA is the only reason Tesla corrected some of their software issues, including delayed backup camera images appearing.

I always preferred my manual vehicles but they suuuucked commuting in traffic every day, so I have no problem with people who don't drive for pleasure/enjoyment using an automatic for commuting because they just need an easy tool to get from point A to point B.
 
I'm an outlier in that I preferred manuals in stop and go traffic. Rarely commuted by car (walk, train, walk commute for 30 years) but when I did drive the BQE, FDR combination I much preferred my manual vehicles I did it in compared to the one automatic I owned.
