Same thing happened to our Macan last week. Caked with bugs driving down to the Gulf Coast thru TX and LA. I just ordered a gallon of bug remover, spray bottles, and bug sponges to keep in both cars. I always carry window cleaner, paper towels, and microfiber towels anyway, but this will add to the stash.

It must be this time of year. Yesterday, I saw a white Model S with the entire front end covered with bugs.

Around this time last year, there was a one hour section on I-5 where I initially thought it was raining - it was continuos splat-splat-splat. I was going through an unusually dense concentration of bugs in a 60 mile stretch. It became so bad that I had to pull into a gas station to clean my windshield.

It’s karma! Mine was actually extremely reliable while everyone else was having issues. When they did the big update to resolve the key fob issues then while everyone else was cheering I started noticing weirdness. Has been sporadic ever since.

I thought I was possibly imaging it but my keyfob reliability has slipped a bit in the last week or two after the update. I just replaced the battery for good measure. I'll see if that helps or if this a 2 steps forward, one step back situation with the software.

Im really starting to think it's not the fob but the module that detects the fob inside the car.

But hey look on the bright side, for all of us with fob problems, the relay attack won't work on us.

I seem to recall @borski saying that the communication on the FOB's is more involved than a standard FOB we are used to using so I'm not sure the relay attack would work.

A relay attack doesn't work with UWB keys like Gravity's. Only with Bluetooth keys.

Hi everyone, brand new gravity owner 3 days. I dont have any of the issues most people have here. My issue is, none of my profiles remember the setting i chose for regen braking, it doesnt remember "Swift" it defaults to "smooth", and it doesn't remember "creep" it defaults to hold. THis happens every time i exit the car, lock it, and then come back in say in an hour or next day. It reverts back to standard regen, to smooth, and to hold. Even though none of those 3 are my settings. My settings are no regen, swift, and creep.

How can i make it remember these? I'm on 3.5.1, and have done the restart by holding two buttons on steering wheel and brake.

Should I do anything else before going back to lucid?

It will default to smooth as apparently it’s an EPA requirement. Interestingly though, it doesn’t do it instantly on the Gravity. It will keep the mode if you’ve been away from the car for a short period of time but if you’ve been away from the car for a while it will default back to smooth.

Not sure if it’s a bug or intentional but creep will also revert back to hold upon returning to the car. I kind of get it from a safety standpoint but not sure if this is actually intentional for that reason or it’s simply a bug.

So your view doesn’t look like this?
The rear curb being misaligned, basically attached to the car, doesn’t really help when determining how far you are from the curb. Same with the front.

I've seen a similar problem, but along the right side of the vehicle. When parking at Millbrae after a test drive, the curb on the right wasn't a straight line, with a discontinuity that was probably at the boundary of changing from one camera to another. At the time, I hoped that it was a glitch with that vehicle, although the Lucid person who rode along with me tried to play it off as being normal.

I'd definitely complain to service about it, and see if they can recalibrate something.

That was the joke, but apparently the Gravity uses UWB which allows the car to calculate the distance the fob is from the car, based on the time it takes to receive the fob signal.

Unfortunately, the car always thinks my fob is too far away.

Transparency mode is off or you wouldn’t see the color of the car.
This was reversing, so hopefully I moved enough for the camera to see where I was.

Looking at recent OTA history cadence, maybe a chance of a minor OTA (bug/regression fixes?) end of this week? One can dream ~

There is one drawback from these long trips. There was pure carnage! The design of the front of the Gravity is optimal for catching insects. My trips were all across the desert in springtime, which is high season for flying insects. I had to wash the Gravity after every trip due to the caked on layer of hundreds of dead bugs and butterflies. Took towels and cleaner with me so that I could clean the windshield at each charge stop. Pure carnage. Never had quite this issue with my Air.

This happened to us too traveling through the central valley in California. Quite the mess.

You know, one would think for a $100K+ car they wouldn't have this problem!

So, now that Lucid is squashing bugs, we're complaining?

I forgot, until CarPlay was available, that Apple does cross-fade, blending the end of one track with the beginning of the next one... Tidal has claimed it's bringing it back, however that feature alone leans me waaay towards using Apple Music as my primary source. Yes, no Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio until Lucid allows it, however it is soooo nice to have cross fade back in my life.

I believe Spotify does it as well, however I'm not a Spotify user.

I guess I'm a little frustrated here reading all this. Does anyone know what the rollout schedule is? I have a DE and can't understand why the update hasn't even been offered to me yet. Currently seeing "up to date" with 3.4.1 on app and inside.

This update rolled out quite quickly compared to others so it’s probably time to contact customer care to check if there’s an issue or not.

Without fail….. one week in with new software and the fob starts becoming a problem again. This is getting beyond ridiculous at this point

I'm having a similar experience. And what's worse is that it's maddeningly inconsistent. Sometime it will lock when I'm just 10 feet away, moving from the garage into my house. Sometimes (and increasingly often) I can get 50+ yards away in a parking lot and it seems as if it's never going to lock. I can often get out of fob button-pressing range, so I don't understand why the car can't determine that the fob is out of range and lock itself.

Defaulting back to hold is also by design it says it in the manual. When you set to creep you have the option to put it on the Pilot Panel car controls, that's the quickest way if you want to use Creep. Personally as someone who drove manual cars only before I went to an EV I can't stand Creep.

@HC_79 @SEA iPhone shortcut has it’s limitations 1. Prompts for you to confirm lock action 2. Aborts sometimes if it thinks car is not in park (which might be root cause of failures) reported . Issue may correlate with age of fob battery. Maybe not.
