The fact this is coming from Edson and not one of the DAs or SAs is a good thing. I'd take that to mean whatever the issue was, they now have a firm fix for it. Whether that means promises from the supplier for whatever part has been held up, or they've finally established firm turnaround times on the new PDI process, or a combination of both. Who knows? I'd love to see all these cars that have been in limbo for so long get out to the many frustrated customers here in the next few weeks.
 
I've spoken to Zak and he's a nice guy. It's good to see some communication coming from Lucid as to what's actually going on but I have to question what on earth were they doing during the initial pre production build runs. Peter was going on all about quality and how they wouldn't have production hell. They delayed the release by 9 months to focus on quality etc. and then go into production with all these issues still.

I question whether Peter is the right person to be running the company. He's a good talker and tells everyone what they want to hear but seems it's all just marketing and the company itself is being run like a circus. Luicd needs to get its act together and fast.

"No plan ever survives first contact with the enemy."

I think this basically boils down to "making cars is hard." Elon certainly learned that the hard way. And Tesla's quality is still very questionable. I don't think anyone is going to get everything perfect on a brand new luxury car in a brand new factory.

I'd be a lot more worried if they hadn't already shuffled around execs on quality assurance, and if they just ignored these production problems completely in favor of pushing cars out the door.

I think we are really talking, hopefully, some time in July. Having the inspections done at Casa Grande is just the first step. They will then need to be shipped to the various Service Centers and, maybe, have more inspections done, before being ready for delivery. If there are more inspections to be done at the Service Center, there may be a bottleneck there until they can get caught up and back to a "new normal" pace. I am hoping that the cars stuck in this review at Casa Grande and undergoing a more detailed inspection means a quicker turnaround at the Service Centers, but time will tell.

Well, we already know they had to change suppliers for some parts as well, so I'm sure that factors into the delay.

Yes the QG looks great. I am glad I changed from White to QG. Dropped it off today for Front PPF With STEK Dynoshield and rest Graphene. First time Driving was interesting with Regen but I know I am going to love it.

The acceleration in smooth mode itself on a 40MPH limit was great. People around me did not even recognize the car but definitely noticed it’s acceleration 😄

I also have to think about this: all the ICE luxury competition has literally had decades and in a few instances, over a century to build processes. The line workers on the Benz S-class assembly line have probably been on that very line for their entire careers and they have a massive cultural tradition of fine workmanship. Have you seen the YouTube videos of Bentley or Lexus production? Insane. How does Lucid get employees like that in central Arizona? Where do they find QA folks or Operations Engineers that compare? It has got to be super hard, take money, and very good recruiting people. It is possible, but very very hard. Their ramp numbers have always been too high. Lexus LS production seems to fluctuate but seems to hover around 20k-30k per year. For Lucid to think they would get that that ballpark in one year and maintain quality is not realistic.
 
Well we still have to push them to deliver quality. As we know this car is more expensive than the EQS. I know they are extremely responsive and have to get props for that but it looks like that may slow down soon. Not sure if this trunk space is normal.

It might help to take a couple more pics from different angles, especially from behind the car. I am not one to tell you one way or another as I do not have a car to compare it to. I just think others that might opine would benefit from different views.

The trunk is the one panel gap that seems to consistently come up whether it's right or not. Some argue it's not right and others argue it's the way the trunk is designed that make it narrow at the top and wider at the bottom, Mine does a similar thing, starts out narrow and as you head down it gets wider.

Yes, Mercedes has been building for a long time.. but, they are having delivery issues too… in addition to the Lucid, I placed an order for an E class sedan in October… it’s still sitting in Germany waiting for final (perhaps parts) completion… not expected before July/August now…

Gap looks like mine. The narrow top wider bottom has been present in every single car I've seen, so it's definitely intentional. Also hard to say whether or not it's necessary since I can't think of any other car that uses this trunk design.

I received my white 21" Tahoe interior GT last Wednesday (6-8-2022). I had it delivered to Dallas XPEL. The XPEL folks did a detailed inspection and found 4 minor defects that needed to be addressed before the PPF could be installed, so I am glad I received it at the shop, so the defects could be addressed immediately, and it was clear that the defects came with the car, so no arguments. Lucid sent out a service person and fixed them all the next day. The work I had done was film on the front, rockers and mirrors outside the car. Based on various comments in forums, I also had all interior glass tinted with a ceramic film that rejects IR and UV heat and 70% of the light. I have a friend who is doing the ceramic protection to the film and the rest of the car. So I saw some comments about heat, A/C and glare off some buttons on the dash. Well, It was over 100 degrees and bright when it arrived. During the test drive (before the film) I could feel the sun on me, but it never got hot inside the car. I could see why some folks object to the glare on the center buttons, but it was not bad enough to bother me. After the tint, the glare went away and the sun coming through was not noticeable anymore. The air vents are wide and air is not blasted out in a stream like my truck, so I felt it was a comfortable way to cool the vehicle. Anyway, bottom line, I asked for a Lucid Forum Discount, and they are putting together a price sheet and deciding how much discount to allow. I will post that information when I get it.

Anyway, bottom line is that any issues with the car heating out in the sun were addressed by the tint.
