Also for those with their service entry box and breaker panel sunk into a wall with stucco or siding, adding a transfer switch to enable vehicle-to-home backup can involve some demolition and reconstruction. Installation cost would typically be in the $1-3 thousand range depending on locale.

I believe right now, the fastest Confirmation to Delivery is @HC_79 (January 5th to April 15).
Fastest VIN to delivery is @Steve11ca (11 days).

For automatic transfer switches (ATS) there are closed and open transition. Closed is seemless whereas for open you loose power for a few seconds before the ats swiches over. Yes, for ats you need to have communication or control wiring between the ats and lucid charger box so both knowns what to do and when. Yes, i think its too early.

My hope was with the AGT, that while I was home, the switch would be seamless and would power things that aren't essential but would be in use while at home, TV AV equip, range. This would require me to use UPS in line with things I didn't want to have the power interruption and go to basement and switch it manually.

Now for a bit of advice from the group. I'm very strongly leaning 'no', but I'll be driving to LA on Friday and wondering if a trip roughly a day after getting the car is a wise decision. If it were literally anywhere else, I might go for it. But since this is my first EV and trying to understand the vehicle, make sure I know where and how to charge, and navigating LA traffic, it's probably too much. But I figured I'd ask :).

I’d be very hesitant, myself. Having said that, friends of ours drove to LA 2 weeks ago to pick theirs up and drove it back to Palm Springs on the 10. They didn’t have any problems except after a 2 hour orientation they gOT upon delivery they couldn’t remember anything they were told.
 
If you thoroughly read the online manual first it will clear up a whole lot of questions.
 
Well it looks like I am the only Jan 5 Order that is not Grey or Silver or 20" wheels not to have a VIN. It looks to me that VIN assignments are slowed down this week? I am puzzled that me DA had such a specific date on May 20 for my VIN (red, Santa Cruz, 21") that is so out of wack with all the other Jan 5 orders?

Is there a link for the manual that flows better? The one I have is cumbersome and does not allow you to “flip” through the pages. I have to click back to ToC to change to next section /s
 
That is the only one I know of at this time. I did find that it was better not to use the back arrow at the bottom of my screen. The three bar icon at the upper left on the screen is faster.

Sorry to hear this. What area are you in? I wonder if they are prioritizing some areas, like Rivian?
 
I just signed the purchase agreement and am about to pay. What method do you recommend? wire transfer ot direct from the bank? when I try to use my bank account, they are asking for my bank account log in information including the password rather than usual routing number and account number. it is a little weird to give them my bank log in information. Appreciate any advice.

For what it’s worth, it’s secure. Plaid is a service that connects to these banks securely and doesn’t save your information.

Absolutely bank wire. No reason to give out your password or account numbers through the Lucid(Plaid portal) or through any other third party.

Tesla also does it, no worries, Bank wire may coast you wire fee depending on terms of your bank account

Charles Schwab charges no fee for wire transfers if you do it at home through your computer. Was easy peasy and was accepted by Lucid as "paid in full" 3 hours later

Not sure the reason for VIN assignments slowing down, may be that a lot of people off the forums are getting VINs, people just forget to update us here (not required), or they are moving entirely to Gray.

Didnt mention but there are electronic ATSs that are so fast that when the utility voltage begins to sag theyll transfer immidiatly and seemlessly without your loads drpping out. Transfer from utility to car battery power and the other way around will both be seemless. These cost quite a bit more. I dont know if the lucid $1000 box can do this -- 1000 sounds too little. For having only some loads on ats you need to add a panel next to your existing and move over the circuits you want on ats.

When you use Plaid, all it does is connect your account to get the ACH information. That's it. You probably have used Plaid many times before without knowing it - they're well known and an industry standard.
