I got my final Purchase Agreement and You're Invited to Pay late last night! So I am assuming for the moment that my car is iat the Scottsdale Service Center. My plan is after I speak to my DA and confirm it's in Scottsdale and actually delivery date I will send the funds. For all the North Scottsdale folks stay tuned for the reveal!

From my experience with buying a DE back in December…the purchase agreement was the next step after getting assigned a VIN…for me I was told my car was still going through production with a delivery date still weeks away. Fast forward to today the system might have changed but it is highly unlikely that your vehicle has left the factory. You should get separate notice from DA when vehicle has left factory and it’s on way to you.

Awesome! We may still get are cars at the same time. I doubt that Lucid would send the invitation to pay until your car leaves Casa Grande. My DA told me that my car was in Scottdale well before getting the invitation to pay. I still do not have a delivery date although another forum member said that if you attach smiley faces to postings, Lucid responds right away with the next step.

For me I think it was weeks after getting my vin that I was told my car would ship in the coming days, a few days later purchase agreement and payment request. Hoping for it this week.

Why does it sound like I need to have my attorney involved in this process. I've never had to pay for a car that I wasn't about to get into. Provide proof of funds I agree with.

You can also refuse delivery and get refunded your money. But traditionally, you would finance or wire on the spot right? I suppose you still could. Discuss it with the DA

Seems like a bit of an overreaction. I suppose you haven’t seen the state of the car market or housing market where people are buying either without having them checked out. Nobody is forcing anyone to take delivery.

Sorry, I guess I've misunderstood what people are saying. I thought people were saying they were asked to pay before car left factory.

Got it! Seems as though people are being asked to pay once it reaches a service center for its final inspection. Not exactly sure though!

No, from what I've seen on here and in my experience, you don't even get the call to pay until car is either en route or already at final delivery point. Difference being of course the people who take home delivery, but those deliveries are still done from a hub.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My delivery advisor told me on multiple occasions not to pay or sign any documents until the car completed the factory quality gate. My car left the factory the same day that it completed the quality gate. This may be unique to Scottsdale though. I was invited to pay after my car was at the Scottsdale service center. I think Lucid changed their approach to asking for payment based on the feedback from the DE buyers. I have no concerns in the way that Lucid is expecting payment.

When you say you ordered on 2/19 and confirmed 9 days later, what did this confirmation entail that the ordering did not? Do you mean you spoke to a DA?

That is correct. Ordered on the website 2/19 (and received email back of "order confirmed" the same day). I then had a phone conversation with the DA on 2/28 to confirm the order and submit driver's license and address information. I'm assuming the order does not go anywhere until the buyer speaks with the DA so that's why I included that date. Thanks.

My DA told me to expect a call from the Scottsdale Delivery Specialist in the nest couple of days. I told my DA I'm not sending funds until I have a firm delivery date. He agreed with me. Apparently, there are 20 or so cars at Scottsdale and I believe will be delivered based on reservation date. Don't hold me to that however.
