My FM radio loses the connection and shows acquiring on the screen. I'm tuning into 94.1 HD 2 which is KYW news in the Philadelphia area. On the FM channel it is one of the strongest broadcasts in the area. Strangely enough 94.1 HD 1 comes in much better. I also see this on other stations other than HD 1. My understanding was the radio was streaming all the stations but I must say the connectivity is poor. Never had one single problem in my Tesla.

Has anyone experienced this and or come up with a solution as Lucid has not.

Thanks Ed

General info, not Lucid specific:
FM radio is a complicated beast these days.

* There's the normal, analog stereo signal that any FM radio can receive. That takes a good bit of the bandwidth.
* HD1 is a digital signal using some of the extra bandwidth with enough data throughput for high quality compressed music.
* The other HD channels are lower bit-rate more suitable for speech.

The radio must receive the analog broadcast with high enough signal to noise ratio to be able to extract the HD (Hybrid Digital) data streams.

If it can receive the analog station, but there's too much noise to get the error-free (or error-corrected) digital data, it will save your ears from harsh noise and show "acquiring".

In some (all?) cases if the HD1 channel is a digital version of the analog station, it will fall back to the analog if it loses the digital.

It's also possible that HD1 may be available, but HD2 not be as they get shoehorned into less bandwidth and presumably less error-correction data.

Radio streaming is typically handled by an app. On my Tesla, TuneIn is used. iHeartRadio is another such service.

The FM radio has never worked well in my car. Lots of dropouts. I mostly listen to SiriusXM, so I haven't worried about it, but it would be nice to have working correctly.
