Finally got WiFi working ... kind of

Like many others, I had trouble getting my WiFi working on my Lucid home charger (LHCS). I spent quite a few hours working on it. I have the latest firmware. I now have it working, although there's still a problem. I have to have a Ethernet connection for the WiFi connection to work. I've verified this in that I can connect to the WiFi, then pull the ethernet cable and the WiFi quits working. Then if I plug the cable back in, the WiFi starts working again.

I also set a static connection for the Ethernet. The DHCP option does not seem to work. In either option, the address is set to 192.168.1.10. My DHCP does not assign addresses lower than 192.168.1.60, so I know this is not working.

I have almost 50 devices on my WiFi. None of them have been as painful to configure as the LHCS!

Network FW version: 01.01.25
Safety FW version: 02.14.54

This. Ethernet on the LCHCS is 100mbit, which is far more than necessary for it. Ethernet is also more stable, as it is hardwired.

That said, the wifi definitely works without Ethernet; I’m not even sure how that would work from a technical perspective. I suspect you’re doing something wrong in the setup (which, to be clear, is not your fault; it’s a UX issue, as the setup shouldn’t be as hard as it is).

I’m happy to help sometime (we can do a call or something, after the holidays), but honestly, I’d just leave it plugged into Ethernet.
 
I just had my lucid charger installed. I can't seem to get past step 3 which says" once your laptop is connected to the wi-fi network of the charging station, open your preferred web browser, enter the station's ip address 192.168.5.1"
I get connection refused each time. I've shut the breaker off numerous times and started the process over but i get the same error.
Since other have had this issue, any fixes other than ethernet which i don't have available?

The LCHCS cannot communicate by wifi on a home network that uses the (very common) 192.168.1.x subnet. It's a pretty substantial firmware bug that has been present for at least two years, and has not been fixed. The solution is to change your home network to some other subnet (e.g. 192.168.2.x), or put the LCHCS on your guest network if it uses a different subnet.

Are you certain that your laptop isn't switching back to using your home wifi network after it discovers that the LCHCS's setup wifi SSID has no internet access?
You could try completely switching off your home wifi network during this part of the setup process to see what happens.

No need; just forget the network on your laptop/phone.

Did you ever get this working? @geosynch is having the same problem.
 
I "forgot" my home networks on my laptop and still can't get passed step 3. My home networks use 10.0.0.x no idea what is going on, but I'm also stuck at 12A. That seems to be the biggest problem.
 
Here's the update. It still doesn't work. I can't try the solutions above because I still get "connection refused" and thus can't access the charger's web page. Changed the ip address of my router and devices, turned off wifi in the house, etc. Changed browsers and laptops. Nothing.

THEN I called Lucid customer service. The first person I talked to said "There are no updates for the charger so you don't need wifi." When I said I would like to know that the wifi works so that when there are updates I will be able to get them, she said she will speak to someone and get directions. She later got on the line telling me to connect to the SSID shown on the LED on the side of the charger. I told her there was no such LED on the charger and asked to speak to the Charger 'person'. The charger person called me a short time later and walked me through the steps, which where the same steps I previously followed numerous times. It did not work. We tried different things. Still did not work. Here is the kicker.... he said he would try it on a charger at his location. It did not work for him at his location! So, he said he would tell the charger engineer of the problem and would get back to me. Haven't heard back yet and will update this thread if I do.

Very frustrating.

some divices require configuration when connected to the router at 2.4. Walk away from your house until you lose WiFi. Walk back towards your house until your within range. Then configure.

Very frustrating.
The LCHCS sorely needs a few weeks of firmware fixes. It's a shame.
 
Post the step by step actions you are taking to perform setup. Example
1. Power off the LCHCS circuit breaker wait a minute. Then power it on. You will have 15 minutes to perform setup. If using a win11 laptop, go to your garage and from your win11 pc select the WiFi network of The LCHCS from

the available WiFi networks of your win11 pc. You do initiall configuration while connected to the LCHCS.
 
Those are the exact steps i've followed numerous times. It fails at step 2b with the error message "connection refused".
