Easiest way to open up trunk (not frunk)?

Just found out something interesting. I washed the car and raised the trunk and frunk lids to allow the water to drain out of them (a process that takes quite a while with the Lucid). When I tried to close them using the buttons on the lids and then the icons on the Pilot Panel, I found they would not operate. I had to close both manually.

I brought this up the next time I called Customer Service, and they said the automatic closing feature timed out after 10 minutes. I asked why, and they said it was meant to override the automatic closing if someone left the lids open for a prolonged time while loading things into the car.

WTF?

Yea...I don't understand that design choice...but at least it's not a bug? 🤣🤣

A real head scratcher lol…

My apologies if this has already been asked, but I just walked out of the grocery store with my hands full of bags, and my GT was parked head in (fairly standard for me) with cars on both sides of it. Does Lucid have an "easy" way to open up the trunk in this case? I'm guessing it is on the long list of things that are "coming", but I was just curious if I was missing anything like alexa (which I tried from inside the car, and didn't work, but still wouldn't have helped either way). It was raining, and I was hoping to open the trunk without having to put my grocery bags down on the wet ground, but I couldn't figure anything out? Am I missing anything, or does Lucid have anything planned (as far as people know)?
Thanks,
Tom
You can use the key fob to open the trunk... I believe it is a short press, followed by a long press.

If you have an iPhone, you can tell Siri to open/close either the trunk or the frunk

in the LUCID App, go to settings, and SIRI to set up or activate commands. You can also do this with Google Assistant

I have 2025 air touring and am having trouble opening the trunk by pressing the button on the back of the car.
If the car is unlocked then it works fine. If the car is locked and I have a key fob in my pocket then the trunk won't open. I can still unlock the doors with key fob in my pocket so it is not a fob issue.

Any other tricks to make the button work when the car is locked. I have tried pressing the button either once or long pressing it but both won't work.

The car has to be unlocked in order to open the trunk.

To clarify, this applies to the button on the trunk itself. No way around that.

Opening the trunk with the fob will work with the doors locked. Double click and hold the fob button, and the trunk will open.

Or you could use the phone or watch app.

If the person approaching has a fob or a smartphone, it should unlock automatically if set to do so, but doesn't always do that. I was told that pushing the door handle would take care of it in those cases. If that's true, then the only thing keeping the trunk button from doing the same thing is programming.

Also, there's no watch app for an Android. And I don't think that the Android app lets you use your phone by holding it against the A pillar.

Yes, opening with keyfob works fine. My primary concern is for the scenario where I have something in both hands. So it forces me to either press the door handle to unlock the car or reach for keyfob in my pocket.

I agree it is a programming gap but seems like a lame gap in functionality. Hopefully Lucid will add this support.
I have not enabled the auto unlock feature on car when approaching with the key fob.

In order for that button to be able to unlock the trunk while the doors were locked, it would have to send a signal out to the computer systems to be sure an authorized key was present. My guess is it's hard wired to something in the car internally that just looks for an unlocked state. It's likely mechanical, in other words, not driven by yet another computer.

I don't think this is fixable in software, in other words. If I had to guess.
